No matter what your age you will never forget the experience of staying at the North Shores only RETRO Vacation Rental! Vinyl records, retro popcorn machine, 3 large 50 inch screen TVs, electric fireplace, unique decor, make this truly a special retreat. This special getaway will not disappoint. Walking distance to several restaurants, gift shops, and of course ice cream. Six blocks from Minnesota's famous Castle Danger Brewery, 1000ft ore boats, or take a walk on the unforgettable break wall and breathe!
The theming is very fun! Great location to be able to walk around Two Harbors and explore the North Shore. The beds are incredibly comfortable after a long day of hiking, and the kitchen was fully stocked with anything we could have needed for cooking.
We visited the Duluth area for the 4th of July. We hit some hot spots: Split Rock Lighthouse, Black Beach, Gooseberry Falls, Bettyâs Pies, Enger Park and the canal.Relaxed at the Twist and Shout. Enjoyed listening to music provided.Thank you for a great stay.
Fun atmosphere and responsive host. Bed was comfy, cute coffee bar, fluffy towels, lots of cute details and vintage dishes. We enjoyed listening to some old records on the record player.
Main issues: entry way light was all but burnt out. There were quite a few flies to contend with. There were a lot of remote controls but we couldn't figure out what they were for.
We enjoyed our short stay in Two Harbors. The top floor of this home was decorated with a fun 50's theme throughout. The coffee and popcorn was a fun and appreciated feature. The weather was quite warm when we stayed mid-September. There was a portable A/C unit in the kitchen with fans for the bedrooms. The kitchen stayed nice and cool, but the bedrooms were uncomfortably warm. If we opened the windows, the street noise was quite loud. The stairs going up to the unit are quite steep so for some that could be a challenge. Overall this was a convenient, clean and great stay for our getaway. Thank you Janelle!
Over all awesome, but some problems with air conditioner control with kitchen very cold and bedrooms were some what too warm. Some flys coming in with air conditioning set up around window. Would stay again and recommend to others. Decorating was fantastic. Felt homey.
Yes this place is as adorable as it looks with its theme and liberal use of Hobby Lobby signs. It was also clean and well stocked. The downtown area is only about 4 blocks away but the places on route 61 are really close. Super close. That is because the house is located on 61, and if you are unfamiliar, route 61 is the main road up and down the north shore.
Like any house it has some good and some not as good:
1) You share the house with other renters. Being an older house, you can hear them. You are renting the top floor and upon entering you have about a 14 step climb to your area.
2) The house is on route 61 and you should expect a lot of traffic noise. A. Lot.
3) Wifi wasn't great. We ended up using our phone hotspot for the majority of our stay.
4) The rooms can get pretty warm during the summer, and there is an air conditioner, but it's in the kitchen and doesn't really cool the rest of the house off. (We put one of their fans in the kitchen doorway and that helped a little)
5) Great theme - adds to the ambiance.
6) It was super clean.
Nicely renovated older home would be nice even if the weather doesnât cooperate. Nice place to hang out.
Centrally located property could walk anywhere in town. Loved the experience.
Really loved the location and decor of this house! I had a few issues that were resolved to my satisfaction and definitely plan to rebook for next year!
We stayed here for our annual Motherâs Day trip.
Very cute - clean and fun
There are a set of killer stairs to climb so if you have folks with knee issues it is something to be aware of đ
Stayed for a youth hockey tournament. Wonderful location for that! A few blocks from the rink and all the local restaurants! The only negative was the stairs in and out. I must have missed them being listed as I have severely bad knees making entering and exiting very difficult.
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen items were plentiful, even the knives were sharp! I would risk the issues getting up and down to stay again. We really enjoyed it! The popcorn machine was a nice touch that made movie time a pleasure!
Close to every where you need to go, easy to find. Was a little loud right in highway 61, but the nights were quiet and we were able to sleep well.
The decor is fun and interesting.
Very enjoyable stay. Thank you very much!
Enjoyed our weekend at this house on the main strip of Two Harbors. Themed in 50âs decor and appointed with lots of fun like popcorn maker, turntable and records, marshmallow cooker, themed rooms and more. Extremely clean. Walkable to restaurants, bars, shoreline, and brewery. Weâd stay there again.
This place was great! Everything went along with the themed decor, there is so much attention to detail. And not only did it look cool, but the beds and furniture were comfortable too. Great location, easy to get to the places we wanted to visit. Iâd definitely stay here again.
This is a fun apartment to stay in, they thought of everything! The location is great, we were able to walk to local shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed movie night with the popcorn machine!
Twist and Shout had everything we needed for a weekend stay. We enjoyed being able to walk to ice cream, Castle Danger Brewing, and the Agate Beach along Lake Superior. It was a great launch pad for our North Shore hiking adventure.
