We arrived to check in around 8pm. There was only 1 person at the check in area who was handling everything from bag carrying to offering coconut to scouting for keys etc. So we had to wait abit. She also seemed abit confused with the paper work so was abit frustrating having arrived late and all we wanted was our room key.
Upon getting to the rooms they are spacious however have a confused design. Seemed like an after though in the layout and designing of the rooms. We had booked ocean rooms however the view seemed more like a swamp view.
We then headed to the restautant and were disspointed by the very limited menu with only 3 main dish options of which i dont eat any. Finally ordered chips and eggs off the menu which the chef made and then headed to bed.
The hotel is very small and the staff seem like they still need alot of training to get to a specific level.
The hotel is rated as 5 star on hotels.com but it is definitely not 5 star in any way. Id say more like a 2 or 3 star.
When we did tey to check out the next morning at 7am the feont desk lady wasnt available so we had to wait for her to come back to her post. It was same lady as the night before. Again in the morning still confused about paper work and payment calculations.
They also charge a 5percent extra fee on card payment and convenietly didnt have any change for cash payment in both usd and tanzania currency so we had to pay with the card and get charged the extra 5percent.
