Overall our stay was comfortable. I did expect a larger space with outdoor access. The garden area was accessible with a special request to the host and only accessible by going through the garage and around the side of the house. Access to the tiny unit was via the garage. Apart from access and accommodation size, it was comfortable and clean.

We enjoyed our stay at the Garden Retreat very much. The host was helpful and very pleasant. The home is in a very nice neighborhood, and we were able to walk to restaurants and other businesses in 10 to 15 minutes.

A peaceful and super clean place in Richmond! The garden view is beautiful, the space was spotless, and the host was very nice and responsive. No kitchen but perfect for a relaxing stay. -Bring your own bottled water ( free 1 bottled water or 2) -lots of tea -espresso machine ( bring your own coffee) -the room is very very clean Would definitely come back!

Great Richmond Spot

We booked this place as a good landing pad for our plans in Richmond. It didn’t disappoint and it certainly met our needs. One area of improvement would be for it to have a mini fridge. Other than that, the Nespresso provided a nice touch for our morning coffees to start each day.

This was not as advertised. The "Garden retreat" is a view of their backyard from the window. To access the room you are given a code for the very loud garage door and then walk through their laundry area to get to the door to your room. The mattress on the bed is the cheapest mattress they could get, it was so hard and uncomfortable. We were given 1 towel each plus one extra towel in the dresser. We had booked 7 nights, it would have been nice to have enough towels to last the entire stay. We did not hear from the host after the check in, not so much as a "hey how are things going? can I get you anything?" nothing. This is a very small room with a bathroom, it is ok if you just want somewhere to sleep for a night but definitely NOT recommended for extended stays as you feel like you are trapped.
