The beds are super comfortable especially coming back from a 10 day trip where the beds were just so so. Everything was amazing! In house coffee was a little different as it's more espressos but there is a Starbucks conveniently located downstairs 😂. We landed quite late and I went there starving and found a food court in the casino. The Singapore noodle meal was super tasty! The only bad experience while at the River Rock was the girl taking orders at the food court, she was rude not only to patrons ordering but to the other staff as well.

Cleanliness was pretty lacking. You're not going to find a spotless bathtub. The pool is largely left alone by staff - there was an incident where *something* was floating in the water, could have been dirt, but could have been something else. Staff scooped it out and said if it floats they keep the pool open (what?) The staff you see walking around are unfriendly; they won't say good morning or smile or anything. The staff working the phones and the desks are very friendly and will get you whatever you need. Towels, slippers, robes, extra coffee, etc. This was the most generous feeling hotel I've ever stayed at which goes a long way to offsetting the above negatives. Close to Skytrain, 'free parking' (you pay about $25 a night for resort fees), early check-in as long as there's a clean room are all positives. Watch the coffee maker - staff won't empty the pods and it is only meant to hold 5 after they've been used. There were no instructions on cleaning it so I had to look up a video and clean up a hot coffee mess. Bit of a mixed review, but I'd stay again.

I liked that the room was cheap and the casino was clean. However, there needs to be more people at the front desk during the weekends. Employees didn't seem happy and none smiled. Asked for a quiet room and placed next to Skytrain. Pool was cold and there were no towels available for 20 minutes and when a new cart arrived, only a handful were added and people rushed to take them and the new towels were gone in minutes. Wife brought towels from our room, but when we called housekeeping to bring new towels, we only got a busy signal for awhile, so we ended up using the hand towels after taking a shower. Late at night, neighbor kicked their door and was fumbling constantly with the locks. This woke up my kids and made it difficult to sleep for awhile. In addition, parking is inconvenient, since it is far away from the hotel rooms. Also, if you have kids, you have to walk outside the hotel, since the only inside passage was through the casino, which is only allows people 19 Lastly, there isn't anything walking distance nearby to eat when you want something to eat at night. The hotel restaurants that are open late are mainly inside the casino, which makes it inconvenient if you have kids, since they cannot go into the casino.

The deal Expedia offered attracted us to this hotel, and location as it was close to the airport. We’ve never stayed here and wanted to give it a try. The pool has a fun slide but the water was quite cold and it got super busy so we didn’t stay long. Overall our kiddo was impressed with the pool. We were really excited to try out the different restaurants, only to be told that kids aren’t allowed in the casino food court where several of them are located- this narrowed our choice down considerably, as we were making kid friendly meal choices. We ended up settling for the buffet which had a lot of choices, but was expensive for a dinner option $50/adult $40/kid and I found only a couple of items to be “good”. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable, I did read other reviews where people were complaining about the sky train noise- our room was facing the sky train in the 10th floor and you could hear the train but we had no trouble sleeping. Free parking is a 5 minute walk to a parkade down the street, and we stayed in a separate tower of the hotel from the pool which meant more walking to and from the pool and restaurants- we didn’t mind but it’s definitely something to consider.

Fairly well organized reception. Average room and facilities. Food options expensive, very average buffet -- copious quantities, average food, cafeteria feel. Excellent server. Stayed here because we were attending a concert. If we return for another event, will stay elsewhere.

The most disgusting bathrooms I’ve had to endure in a casino. My wife said the women’s were worse. You’d think with the millions of dollars going through that establishment they could keep the bathrooms decent. The men’s rooms both had urine all over the floors and of the four sinks only two had working water and I had to get hand soap from one of the non working sinks. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable as usual but something has to be done about those bathrooms!

Far past its prime. Needs improvement

The staff were amazing, and the service was great—they were always ready to help with anything we needed. However, the elevators and escalators were frequently out of order, which often caused significant pile-ups. As a result, we ended up using the stairs about 95% of the time. Unfortunately, at certain hours, the stairwell doors were locked, which puzzled us—why would a fire safety exit ever be inaccessible? The building itself is in dire need of major maintenance. Approximately 50% of the light bulbs were burned out, except in the front area and casino, where it’s clear all the money has been funneled over the past 20 years. The rest of the property has been sorely neglected. The parking garage was filthy and reeked of human waste. The surrounding areas have also seen better days, with numerous homeless camps and trailers dotting the outskirts of the property. We had originally planned to use the sky train for transportation, but after seeing the condition of everything, we opted to drive instead. Again, the staff were consistently great, but they can only do so much when everything around them is falling apart. The pool area never had fresh towels, and the deck was littered with multiple Band-Aids and grime that sat around for days—simple issues that could easily have been cleaned up. I would love to bring my family here again, but would need to see some rather large improvements before doing so.

Our room had lots of wear and tear. The bathroom handle had no screws holding it on so it wouldn’t ever properly shut. The bedroom had no working lamps and the plugs for your phone also had missing screws and were moving around outside the wall. Great beds and pillows but the room need some serious TLC
