Quiet Open-Space in Historic Palazzo steps from San Marco
The Tommaseo is a lovely open-space, part of the Piano Nobile of an historic building.
It is in a quiet street on the border between the San Marco and Castello Districts in the heart of the historical center of Venice.
It is accessible from the San Zaccaria Vaporetto stop (public transport) in only 2 minutesâ walk in straight line. In the surroundings you can find excellent restaurants, every sort of shop, the supermarket and the most renowned tourist sites such as St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace.
Quietness is guaranteed here: you will hardly hear the gondoliers singing while rowing through the nearby canal as the huge double glaze windows are soundproof. It has been recently restored and finely furnished, equipped with Wi-Fi, air conditioning and every sort of modern appliance.
The structure is quite interesting: as you can see from the photo gallery, the authentic 5 meters tall ceiling is one of the most beautiful in our portfolio, witnessing the opulence of the past centuries. The entire house is an open space with two galleries, both reachable through wooden stairways and composed of a bedroom with closet space and bathroom with shower. The beds sizes are respectively king (1.8 meters wide) and double (1.4 meters wide).
We suggest the Tommaseo apartment to demanding couples, families with grown-up kid or friends who share intimacy, as the bedrooms are part of the open space environment and cannot be completely closed. The house is very comfortable for up to three people but may be rented by four as in the living room there is also a double pull-out bed.
The building features also a communal terrace with outdoor furniture and charming canal view. To reach the teccace the guests must walk from the communal entrance hall at the ground floor through the corridor that leads to the canal side, therefore it is not directly connected to the apartment.
On certain dates of the year, visitors must pay an access fee of EUR 5-10 per person per day to enter Venice. Those with accommodation in Venice are exempt from paying this. Guests must however request an exemption voucher in advance and present it with an identity document on arrival. To check affected dates, fees and request an exemption, visit cda.ve.it/en/.
Super gelegene Wohnung ganz nah am Markusplatz und einer grossen Vaporettoanlegestelle. Ruhige Umgebung.Due Treppe zu dem zweiten Bett ist relativ steil.
The apt was very nice and cute. Well decorated. Great location with a view of a canal. It had a nice common area to sit outside. Tracy, the property manager was super. She keep in contact with us prior to our vacation, meet us at the dock when we got off the water taxi and walked us to the apt. She arranged a porter and the water taxi back to the airport on the day we departed. She explained the apt, trash pick up and local activities and place to see. Our only complaint was the very small staircase to one bedroom (not pictured) and the upstairs where the bedrooms are was quite warm. The heaters were on when we checking in. Tracy suggested not to open the windows because of the mosquitoes. Perhaps some oscillating fans in each bed room to move the air around.
Loved this VRBO! The location was close to a square with restaurants and shopping. It was a short walk to St. Markâs Square and Basilica. They arranged and met us at the dock and then arranged our water transport to the airport. Would recommend this to my friends.
