"Family Ties" - False River Home Away from Home - Sleeps 10

Welcome to our home away from home. Designed with family in mind! Come enjoy the beauty of False River offering fishing and water activities during the day to relaxing and playing games from the large back porch in the evening. Or simply bring your laptop for a change of scenery and work while looking directly at the beautiful river!

Open floor plan with space for everyone! Prepare meals from a fully stocked kitchen while others enjoy the comfortable living room. Stream movies or watch your favorite Netflix series on the 75 inch Smart TV.

Enjoy the spacious master bedroom with views of the water and an ensuite bathroom complete with relaxing tub to unwind. Catch up on the morning news on the 65 inch Smart TV. Additional bedrooms include a queen guestroom with ensuite bathroom, a king guestroom and a bunkroom that can sleep 6 for the kids. The king guestroom and bunkroom share the 3rd full bathroom so you never have to wait for an available bathroom! Bring your gaming consoles to hook up to the 50 inch Smart TV in the bunkroom.

The large screened in porch is perfect for enjoying meals outside or family game night! Or feel free to bring your favorite wine, a good book and simply relax.

We specifically purchased this property to escape the noise and pace of the city and to entertain our friends and family without compromising all the comforts of home. Not only is the river beautiful, it's calming and peaceful. A real place to come to recharge, catch your breath, and spend some quality time with family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Please note that there are 5 steps to enter the house for anyone with mobility issues. Please respect quiet hours outside after 10pm as a courtesy to our neighbors. No pets and no smoking.

Fishing is allowed from the pier, however, fishing licenses are required for anyone 16 years of age or older. For more information regarding the necessary licensing criteria or to purchase your license online, please visit https://www.wlf.louisiana.gov/page/recreational-fishing-licenses-and-permits. Licenses can also be purchased in person at various local retailers.

Beautiful Location

Perfect for our family gathering. Several places within the home and outside for us to share laughs, meals, and family time. We enjoyed relaxing out on the screened porch area and watching the sunset from the pier. The steep driveway was unexpected but we managed. More than adequate parking given the size of our party.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this property. Beautiful inside and out. Death Valley Game

We had a great weekend in False River! For most of us, it was our first experience at an LSU game and needed a good place/location for the game. Ma Mamma’s is a great place for evening meal. Great food and perfect place to take a big group or just your special someone. The house was clean, spacious and provided everything and more for our group. I would definitely recommend this place for a great stay. Great communication by the owner too!!

Soul Circle Getaway!

Our ladies Soul Circle group stayed at Family Ties for a weekend and it was just perfect. The space was so welcoming and clean, and perfectly accommodated our large group. The kitchen was well stocked and even had two ovens which made cooking for a large group ideal, and there was plenty of space to eat at the indoor island and table. There were also so many great areas to gather in the living room, screened porch (that had an extra fab for the heat!), back patio, and the dock. What a fabulous place to connect with nature and each other and watch beautiful sunsets. The beds (and especially pillows!) were so comfortable. We will definitely be returning, Family Ties is an ideal getaway house!

WE FINALLY MADE IT

I booked this outing in January for July 4th. It finally got here. We were all looking forward to it and it was GREAT. We ALL had one (1) complaint about the house - the microwave was under the cabinet. We ALL have back problems and over 70 (HA!). It was hard on us to bend and hard to read the numbers because of bi-folds (HA). Other than "old-ager" complaints the house was beautiful, had up-to-date appliances, comfortable furniture (recliners were great for us 'old-agers'), extremely roomy for seven (7). We truly appreciate the owners allowing others to enjoy their lovely accommodations. Thanks!

Thanksgiving Family Getaway

This is our second stay here and it agian met all expectations. Beautiful home summer or fall. We were able to take advantage of the on sight outdoor heater and firepit as well as the indoor gas fireplace during this stay. Lots of family memories made and talks of our next trip back. The Perfect Vacation Home

From the moment we walked in the door, it smelled so fresh and welcoming. The beds were beyond comfortable. We enjoyed the games available to play as a family. Definitely was not ready to go home. Only recommend having an ironing board available for use, however, I didn’t attempt to reach out to see if it was located somewhere other than the laundry area. Whenever I needed to contact the host she was readily available. Definitely hope to stay here again, but longer!

Family fall break

House was beautiful,well maintained and very well stocked. Screened in porch was great. The grandchildren loved fishing on the pier. Actually caught 3 catfish. Communication with owner easy and responded promptly. Would definitely rent this house again
