Birthday Trip

We had a great time! The property was in a clean and quiet neighborhood with quick access to all the shopping and eats. Quick trip to the beach was super convenient. The home was clean and welcoming. The manager was super helpful and friendly along with making sure we knew they was available if needed. We will return to this home again!

Great location inaccurate description

The location was great, downtown area easy to get places. The listing was not correct it said sleeps 10 with up to potential 8 beds. It had 4 beds. Reached out to owner and they tried to say i was wrong about the listing then I was proven correct. They said we had 6 people so we should be fine with 4 beds. We did not want to share which is why we chose this place. The front porch had no railing and it was a couole feet off the ground. Someone could easily fall off. It wasn't dirty, dirty but definitely needed floors swept and their were dirty towels in the washer from previous guests, I would assume. It definitely had a very soft spot in bathroom floor that was a bit sketch as well. If it was just us ladies, I would have been uncomfortable because there was a door leading to another part of the place that was occupied that we could not lock.

Nice quiet neighborhood about 20 mins from the beach. Nice beach theme and good outside space. Quaint inside space. Good for short stays!

Overall the property was accomodating for our group. Each got their own rooms and we enjoyed the main living room seating. The place did seem a little run down upon further inspection; Owners were very quick to respond to requests.

Disappointed

The property was not clean. Dust on fans, counters had a film on them, mold in shower, dirt under beds. Lacking in fire alarms. Ceiling fans did not have all the light bulbs or were burned out. The pictures did not show the true age of the property. We could only get to the backyard through the side fence where someone else had entrance to the 'mother-in-law' suite, so we couldn't let our dogs out there. It was one of the reasons we rented the property. The location was what we expected.

Terrible place. We did not stay there

This place was terrible. Mattress in master was lumpy like it was 20 years old, yet it was supposed to be new. There is another unit attached to this house and a camper in the back hooked up to electric with someone staying in it. No fire alarms in the house. Was afraid we would fall through the floor in the bathroom as it was very soft. We were worried about mold too. We only stayed about an hour and decided we didn’t feel safe enough to stay there. Part of window was open and covered with foil. Flower pot in living room was broke. Yet still on the table. Would not recommend.

Could use a thorough cleaning

The house could use a thorough cleaning. My socks were filthy by the end of the night. My sister had a roach run across her floor toward her 4 week old infant. I messaged the owner to let him know and I never heard anything back. Also, there was little to no hot water to shower.

Good if you aren't fussy

My best friend of 35 years and I, along with our children, rented the house for an extended Memorial Day weekend. The house was completely acceptable, the neighborhood was quiet, had a local feel, and was overall very central to everything. 15 minutes to ocean (need to drive), 15 minutes to the bay beach (Chic's Beach- highly recommended if you like a calmer scene) and 5 minutes to the town center where you can find shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Multiple grocery options, Wegmen's, Food Lion and Whole Foods, all close. It was a great time Josh was helpful when we had questions. The only item I would say caught us off guard was that there is someone living in another part of the house, a mother daughter apt kind of, and that wasn't really specified or clarified initially or in listing. No interaction with the person, very quiet and respectful, we were probably louder. Overall I would say it was great and perfectly enjoyable.

The House you DONT want !

Upon Opening the front door, we were greeted by the putrid smell of mold, and found dirt, cobwebs, personal items left by previous guests(?), broken down sofa (dangerous), and NO Central AC, only 4 window units of which only 2 operated properly, the Refrigerator had broken Ice maker and shelves, and the kitchen drawers were broken. We spent three hours cleaning the property, while sending multiple messages to owner and getting NO response, until following day. By the second day, we had the place 'livable' enough that we decide to tough it out for another day. It was on the second day, that we found out the 'maintenance' man lived in the 'camper' parked in the backyard !!!!! This house was NOT even close to what it was advertised as. The best thing I can say, the ONLY thing I can say is the location was good. The ONLY justice due to myself and my guests is some form of reimbursement, a letter of apology and a promise that the owner will invest in this potential property to improve amenities to the level advertises so that future customers truly get what they are expecting, and paying for, VERY disappointed with the owner and VRBO for representing such an owner.

Old house, oversold listing, very disappointing.

I read the reviews and looked at the pictures and felt this place must have been improved upon since the negative reviews in 2018. It was not. The neighborhood was quiet with plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby, however 10 miles to the beach is too far! The house was *clean* for sure. The toilets, the sink, the fridge - all clean, almost like new! But, the house is dark and very rundown, not light and bright like the pictures show. There are rust stains around every visible nail, the kitchen drawers felt like they were going to fall out if you let go of them. The couches were broken and uncomfortable. There were NO TOWELS provided except a single hand towel in the bathroom. There was no central air as stated in the description, there were window units in almost every room that were so loud as to interrupt sleep. The window units leave the windows unsealed so there were many, many bugs in the house. The house is listed as pet friendly, but that only means that pets are allowed, not accommodated. There were large piles of dog poop in the front yard and no access to the backyard from inside the house. The RV in the backyard takes up most of the space, so there's no opportunity to throw a ball around with your dog if you want. There's a missing grate in the floor of the kitchen that a dog or cat (or child) could easily step into and get hurt. There was also too much "invisible" activity on the property for our comfort. An Amazon order arrived while we were there. There were two pick-up trucks parked on the side of the house - at least one of them was moved so they are not abandoned. A political sign on the lawn? I don't care about the political affiliation, but putting a political sign on the lawn doesn't feel very welcoming for a rental property. There's a room off the kitchen with a padlock on it - this just adds to the lack of welcoming feelings. The RV parked in the backyard and lack of access to the yard was very disconcerting. Ultimately, we booked for three nights and had to transfer to a hotel after just one.

Great Location! Great Value!

Location! Location! Location! We were just minutes away from many great restaurants and shopping in the area. The house is older but very clean and tidy. All of our essential needs were met. It was great having bedrooms for all of my children. Communication with our host was prompt and easy. We would stay angin! Much better then staying in a hotel with very little room.

North End & Chicks Beach paradise

Josh the owner was incredibly helpful. The house was spotless and plenty of clean linens are provided. New washer/dryer was so helpful. 5 mins from any meal you could imagine & 10 miles from beaches! Would come back again next year! Thanks Josh!

We really enjoyed our stay.

First want to start off by saying the house is as described actually better then the photos online led us to believe. It's an older house but was clean and decorated beautifully. For the money, description, and space you get staying in this home I would definatley recomend you staying here. It's not a 5 star luxury resort, but I gave 5 stars for the house being it was better then what we expected. Our family enjoyed our stay.
