Luxury Vacation Home with Awesome Lake Views!

Welcome to Spencer Hill Cabins! We offer two luxury vacation rental homes nestled on a 4-acre pristine property overlooking Lake Wanahoo, one mile north of Wahoo, Nebraska).

Naw-Tee Pine is our 3 bedroom /3 bath cabin finished with knotty pine walls & ceilings, reclaimed barn wood floors and granite counters. All linens are provided.

Main Floor includes:
Large great room with dining for 10 and huge windows with amazing lake views and a large sliding door to the deck with a weber, gas grill.
Master bedroom with a queen log-framed bed and the perfect place to watch the sun rise and a sliding door access to the deck.
Fully equipped kitchen with granite counters.
Bathroom with shower over tub.

Loft includes:
King bed and 2 built-in bunks.
Bathroom with shower over tub.

Lower Level includes:
Bunk bedroom (2 sets of twin beds. Top beds are for children under 80 lbs.)
Full size sofa sleeper.
Bathroom with shower over tub.
Flat screen SMART tv with dvd player and many movies.
Access to patio, fire pit and large yard.

The quiet town of Wahoo is located 1 mile south and offers many conveniences from fast food to restaurants, banks, a bakery, a meat locker and grocery store. The town also has an 18-hole golf course, a large park and swimming pool and is the site of the Saunders County Fair. Omaha's world class Henry Doorly Zoo, the College World Series and the annual Berkshire Hathaway meeting are an hour's drive away. The Wahoo Municipal Airport is also located just 1 mile east.

We are sorry but due to allergy issues we cannot accommodate pets. We also do not permit smoking, excessive drinking or loud parties on the premises at any time.

Beautiful and relaxing

We had so much fun on our family get together. We enjoyed the little trail walk to the lake and back. The house was wonderful and had great character. The set up was perfect for family time together, whether it be dinner or gameboard night or watching tv and lounging.

Quick Family Getaway

The property was very well maintained and Linda was very available and prepared! There was plenty of outdoor green space for our kids to run around and the playground by the lake was perfect. Quick trips to the bakery and meat locker also were wonderful. We would recommend staying here without question!

Great spot for a relaxing weekend

We loved this lakeside cabin! The home is beautiful and very well maintained. The grounds are spacious and quiet. Lots of room for the kids to run and a nice fire pit for evenings by the fire making s'mores. This place is very relaxing and comfortable. If you like to fish, you have access to a great fishing lake in Lake Wanahoo.

Linda’s home is beautiful, clean, and she adds a lot of details to ensure you have a comfortable stay. She went out of her way to look up things for us! We enjoyed our stay and our kids had so much fun! We rented kayaks through Leaha at Hammer Outfitters (402) 719-9162. Great way to enjoy the lake!

This is a fabulous place on a lake. Fantastic house that looks exactly like the pictures and was tastefully decorated. Plenty of room and beds for everyone. Amazing family time!

We had an amazing stay at Spencer Hills cabin! The kids loved the upstairs loft with the built in beds and little play area. We spent hours outside flying kites, fishing, playing kickball and having water balloon fights. We also went to the aquatic center in Wahoo which was so much fun! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your cabin and create lasting memories!

Family Homecoming

Perfect location to celebrate our mothers 82nd birthday! The cabin is perfectly appointed and immaculate! We were able to enjoy home cooked meals around a beautiful family size table. The lake view and accessibility it perfect. You can even walk into town! Loved that there were three floors. Perfect for hanging out together or getting a moment alone. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful home! It has a great luxe cabin vibe with all of the wood. The home was immaculately clean and was very well appointed. Plenty of clean towels and supplies. We appreciated the 1st floor bedroom for my senior mother, she was very happy there. The beds were so comfortable. My spouse and I live in a very urban area that is noisy with police/fire responses and traffic. We slept so well here with the peace and quiet of this private setting. Communications with the host were great. Messages (text and emails) were returned very quickly. We had a family dinner and there was plenty of space and lots of parking. Lots of seating options indoors and out. We had GREAT weather for our stay, in November. The kids enjoyed exploring the property and especially the teepee. Thank you!

Our experience at Naw-Tee Pine Cabin at Spencer Hill was amazing. We appreciated the communication with the hosts, the cleanliness, the decor, the proximity to the lake, and all of the amenities. Rick and Linda thought of every detail, from fully supplied kitchen to outdoor games. It was an excellent setting to entertain family and some friends. The outdoor space was great for children. Wonderful 4th of July stay

I would highly recommend this property. Our family rented the house to celebrate my husband’s grandfather’s 90th birthday and we were able to safely have him over with some other family members without issue. The pictures do not do the home justice and everything is VERY well organized and thought through. I have stayed in many homes with my family and none have provided this much comfort, down to wood for the fire pit and skewers for s’mores! There was plenty of room for lawn games and the bedding was all extremely comfortable! Communication was excellent and prompt as well.

Amazing experience!

The property is great. We had a small family meeting here, some are from Wisconsin and others are in Denver so perfect middle point. The house is beautiful, spacious, and clean. Rick and Linda we extremely easy to work with an answered any questions we had before we arrived. The deck is great for morning coffee, the yard is perfect for daytime activities (playing cornhole, spikeball, and we set up a volleyball net), the lake is great for fishing, kayaking, or just a place to go for a quiet walk. The town of Wahoo is super close and has anything you might need. I highly recommend this for someone looking for a nice quiet getaway.

Fun for all ages!

The Spencer Hill Cabins are one of our favorite family gathering areas. Rick and Linda accommodate their guests by providing a clean, comfortable space with adequate furnishings. It feels like our "home away from home". My family and I enjoy the outdoor patio area, the green space for lawn games, and the fire pit area for roasting marshmallows. The cabins are in a private location, close to the lake, and are very spacious. We love the central location, as it is convenient for our Omaha and Lincoln family members. In addition to the beautiful scenery, Wahoo offers activities for all ages. The kids enjoyed the free pool passes, going kayaking and fishing, while others shopped at the area boutiques. Many great memories were made!

Where do I start? Everything is beautiful. The location is so serene and completely relaxing. The owners are awesome people, they have not left anything out at this cabin. It truly feels like someone is opening their home to you for a week. Perfectly stocked kitchen, stuffed animals and books for the kids (hidden playroom was my kids' favorite), snuggly blankets, plenty of first aid supplies (a had a run in with some mosquitos), kayaks, very clean. I really had a hard time leaving. Wahoo is also a great town. Check out the locker and the bakery. We will be back! If you want to have a get away to reconnect as a couple or family, this is the place to do it.

Spencer Hill is a Home away from Home

We rented Spencer Hill for a family vacation and was so surprised and happy how wonderfull this property turned out to be. As everyday that went by with our vacaton I would find more and more things that we just loved about this house. This rental has everything that you need for a peacefull and relaxing vacation. The owners have paid closed attention to all the little details. I truely felt like a guest visiting in a home with all the little welcoming touches. I have to mention also how well groomed the land is. Lake Wanahoo was great to fish at and I had no idea that Nebraska had such a nice lake.The property is so big and well set up. Our kids even saw a Bold Eagle. You do not have to worry if the weather is bad because the owners have made sure that there is pleanty of entertainment obtions within the house. My family did not want to leave. They wanted to know when we could come back. This is from now on our new family vacation place.

Perfect in every way!

This is a beautiful property that my whole family felt was perfect! We had seniors and couples and kids, yet there seemed to be something for everyone! We reserved the house to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and easily housed 9 family members. The house and property are beautiful and well-appointed with everything that you desire - beautiful furniture, lovely bed linens and towels, and a kitchen that contains everything you can imagine needing. The owners have thought of all of the extras you would want in your own house - we really appreciated the coffee (which we forgot!), the games and balls and bases for the kids, the sound system, and the kayaks. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and greatly enjoyed kayaking on the lake. Linda let us know that it was fun to kayak amongst the trees in the middle of the lake, which we did, and we saw herons and turtles and otters - a really great interaction with nature. There is no swimming in the lake, but there is plenty else to do. We also explored the little town of Wahoo, which has a beautiful soldier memorial, and Omaha, which is only a short and fast trip away. There was great communication by the owners, and we felt very welcomed. We really enjoyed this property, and can't think of a thing we would change. I would highly recommend this property to anyone, and hope to be able to stay here again with my family! Many thanks to Linda and Rick for being willing to share their house.

A hidden gem!

This beautiful vacation home was a perfect choice for our family get-away! Located a short drive from the cities of Omaha and Lincoln, it was wonderful to drive from a busy city into the beauty and quiet of rural Nebraska. A short 20-30 minute drive took us past corn and soybean fields to this "home away from home". One day our family visited Lincoln and toured the UNL Cornhusker football stadium and UNL's Lester F. Larsen Tractor Test and Power Museum. The next day we went to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. We discovered there are so many things to do in both Lincoln and Omaha, I'm sure we'll be back! Each evening we returned to prepare a meal and eat together, either on the deck outside or around the large dining room table. The owners have furnished the kitchen with everything a family needs to prepare and serve a meal. There is a huge gas grill that can accommodate cooking for a large crowd. We loved having a bon fire in the evening and making S'mores! Each room of the home is decorated beautifully. The beds/bedding are ultra comfortable! Our grandchildren, ages 2 and 4 loved the sleeping nooks built into the Master bedroom. There's even a surprise play area tucked away for the small children! It's evident the owners have grandchildren as the whole home and property is very family-friendly. I appreciate how easy it was to communicate with Linda. I also appreciated finding a property that did not require a week-long reservation, as we only could find a few days to get away that worked for everyone in the family. The weather was stormy when we left our home in SD en route to Lake Wanahoo. Linda and her husband checked weather radar for us and advised what route to take. I'd say that is personalized service! This vacation property would also work if you have a larger group of friends or family and some would like to stay in their RV. Some of the group could stay in the vacation home, and the 'Campers' could reserve a site at the State Park, (which is a very short walk from the home). Our experience with this vacation home was outstanding. I am sure we will return!
