Waikanae Beach Abode: Memories, Family & Relaxation

Hey There! Welcome to Waikanae Beach Abode, a three-bedroom home in Waikanae Beach - the perfect retreat for families and travelers seeking a relaxing beach getaway. With sleeping arrangements for up to six people, board games and huge sofa - our home provides a comfortable space for everyone!

We are just a five minute stroll from the nearest beach access, and not too far from the Olde Beach neighbourhood filled with cafes, play grounds, an art studio and shops!

Come and experience for yourself the coastal charm of Waikanae Beach – and make some family memories at your home away from home on the Kapiti Coast.

The Space:

Our renovated beach cottage is centered around the open-plan living area in the heart of the house. Starting with a fully kitted out kitchen featuring an oven, hobs, microwave, and even a coffee machine with Nespresso pods. Whether you're a seasoned chef or just want to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, we've got you covered. The living and dining area flow from the kitchen and have a spacious sofa, a TV with Netflix and an electric fireplace for a cosy atmosphere on the chilly nights. The heat pump provides extra heating during winter or can serve as air conditioning when it gets hot during summer.

The two queen bedrooms are accessed from the main living area and are fitted with crisp commercial quality linen for a restful night's sleep (and hopefully a sleep in!), while the third bedroom is located down the corridor and has two single beds, perfect for families or friends traveling together.

Within the main bathroom you will find the toilet, basin, rainfall shower, heated towel rail and a washer/dryer and at the end of the corridor there is a "half bathroom" with an additional toilet.

Step outside onto the balcony in the evenings and experience breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky over the street, or head out to the patio area where the festoon lighting and outdoor furniture are perfect for al fresco dining during the warmer months.

All linen, towels and shampoo + conditioner are provided, and we have Netflix, Neon and Freeview on the TV for your viewing entertainment!

House Rules:
Although the main rule is to relax and enjoy yourself - there are a few "housekeeping" notes we should point out!

1. We LOVE animals, and know how hard it is to leave home without your fur babies. So if you are like us, and you love bringing your pup away with you on vacation, please keep in mind the following:
- Let us know when you are bringing your dog along
- Please bring a bowl and bedding for them (and please keep their wee paws off the furniture)
- All toilet visits should be outside, please pick up after them!
-If any damage or accidents occur during your stay please let us know ASAP
- damages and accidents may incur extra charges
- The $10 per pet per night fee is applicable to dogs of any size
- take note that our property is not fenced, so you will need to keep fido on a leash while outside

2. This is an obvious one - but absolutely no smoking and/or illegal drug use inside the bach. Fines will apply

3. No parties or events please!

4. Please respect the privacy of the guests staying in Waikanae Beach Escape and do not enter that side of the fence

5. We cannot accept bookings of more than 28 nights at a time

6. The guest booking must be staying and not booking on behalf

7. Finally, please respect and take care of Waikanae Beach Abode so it can carry on creating relaxing and memorable getaways for guests for years to come!

Other things to note:

Before you arrive, you will be asked to complete guest verification through third-party provider Truvi (formally Superhog). The process takes on average 4 minutes, and is done to ensure we are keeping up-to-date with short-term rental regulations as well as providing both our guests and our properties with extra protection. You will also be asked to choose between authorising a $600.00 damage deposit in case of accidental damage during your stay or a $33.00 damage waiver fee through third-party provider Truvi. Truvi will contact you via email or text to complete the process. Please complete these steps prior to arriving at the property to enable a quick and easy check-in process. Your access to Waikanae Beach Abode will be with a unique code for the smart lock, you will receive your door code at 9AM on the morning of your reservation start date you can then proceed at your leisure and check yourself in at any time that suits you from 4PM!

If you are interested in purchasing an early check-in get in touch and we can help you to upgrade your vacation to kick off early (subject to availability, so don't sleep on it!)

There is a camera operating on the property which records footage of the driveway for security purposes.

Guest Access:

We have two buildings on our property. Waikanae Beach Abode is the 3 bedroom home on the right (Unit 3) while the bach on the left (Unit 3A) is Waikanae Beach Escape. Waikanae Beach Escape is also available to book if you need more space for another two guests. The two houses are divided by a fence, but share the beginning of the driveway. If you have not booked both properties, please respect the other guests by not crossing over the fence or allow your dog to go over there.

The other areas that are not included in your stay are the garage under the house, or the empty section beyond the properties gate.
