The fully active farm "Bio-Hof am Deich" with organic, organic milk and cattle farming (Bioland certificate!) can be found in the "Elisabethgroden" in Wangerland, very close to the North Sea resort Carolinensiel-Harlesiel. Our farm is very quiet in the wide, fresh East Frisian marsh, in the middle of lush meadows and fields, between the dike and the "dike", right on the edge of the natural spectacle "Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park", since 2009 "UNESCO World Natural Heritage". A little bit north of our courtyard is the outer dike and beyond that the sea. A little bit to the south is the "dyke dyke", that is the old dike, which, after land reclamation in recent centuries, is located a bit inland and is no longer directly relevant to coastal protection. That is why it is also called "dyke dyke", because it has found its peace, so to speak. Between these two dikes is our farm on the "polder", the land that was wrested from previous generations by the sea and which will give you a very unique scenic experience during your vacation. Here on the "Bio-Hof am Deich" three spacious, cozy and brightly furnished and fully equipped apartments await our guests and their children, from which they can see the dike and watch the cows grazing on our pastures. The apartments are approximately 65, 85 and 95 square meters in size and offer plenty of space for two to five or two to four people with an additional toddler. An unusually unobstructed view around the courtyard onto a lot of open land awaits you, as you have probably never experienced something like this. In the beautiful sunny garden in front of our house you can enjoy the incredible tranquility and the wonderfully fresh East Frisian air. The "Bio-Hof am Deich" is an active farm with dairy farming, interesting, modern and traditional East Frisian. We have cows and the corresponding offspring, i.e. calves and young cattle. We also have two cats, guinea pigs and ponies. So there is something to see and participate in on a real farm. If you have managed to “get rid of yourself and the children” from our farm and from the wonderful expanse of fields and meadows, then visit the beautiful North Sea resort Carolinensiel-Harlesiel nearby. In Carolinensiel-Harlesiel there is an extensive vacation offer for children and parents. For example the “Haus des Gastes” and the “Cliner Quelle” spa center with a comprehensive range of bathing, entertainment and relaxation options. For example, parents can read in peace while their children are looked after by experienced professionals. The museum harbor is a real gem and there you will be spoiled in various restaurants and cafés with fine maritime East Frisian cuisine, for example. At the museum harbor you can enjoy the view of the old ships, the harbor promenade with its cafes, tea rooms and restaurants, as well as the paddle steamer "Concordia II", a replica of the old "Concordia I" from 1854. This paddle steamer takes you on the low in the shuttle traffic from the museum harbor past the "Haus des Gastes" through the Friedrichsschleuse to the marina in Harlesiel to the North Sea. The whole family prefers to go to the beautiful beach, of course, but you can also go swimming in the indoor brine pool (paddling pool, sauna, solariums, beauty and wellness department and once a week the popular "moonlight swimming"). Or you can visit the heated sea water outdoor pool in Harlesiel in summer. For children and adolescents and actually for the whole family there is the “Happy Family Club” with programs and many ideas. On holiday in Carolinensiel, sports and games, entertainment and relaxation are always provided. Of course, in "Caro", as the locals like to call this beautiful place affectionately, there is also everything you need for everyday life: large and small supermarkets, pharmacies, bakers, hairdressers, savings banks and many shops with a wide range of maritime shops or - very important - swimming trunks, sunscreen and a shovel for the beach. Always a special tip is a day trip to one of the East Frisian Islands, best of all from Harlesiel to Wangerooge with its beautiful lighthouse. Or you can simply start from our small airfield for a sightseeing flight over dikes, the North Sea and islands. The Elisabethgroden belongs to the velvet municipality of Wangerland, which has a lot to offer in terms of tourism. In our immediate vicinity there are a number of excellent maritime restaurants and many other tourist offers. You can also find many shopping opportunities nearby in the climatic health resort "Hohenkirchen", the center of Wangerland. There you will also find the "North Sea play city Wangerland", a large leisure area with many attractions for young and old. The best way to reach the beautiful and large sandy beach of “Schillig” is by bike on a nice tour along the dike. The North Sea spa "Horumersiel-Schillig" is about 15 kilometers away and is one of the most popular vacation spots in Germany. Here you will find a comprehensive tourist offer, including the “Friesland-Therme”, an adventure and leisure bathing facility. This bathing facility is fed from a 160 meter deep brine water well. The bath also houses a sauna wing with a log cabin sauna as well as a Finnish sauna, steam bath and sauna garden. The guests of the bathroom can access the spacious outdoor area through a kind of canal. The outdoor pool is used all year round! It is a little further to Hooksiel. From Hooksiel you go on a deep-sea fishing trip or you are interested in Hooksiel for the historic town center with the listed harbor or for the former town hall with the striking onion tower, now used as an artist's house. Hooksiel was formerly an important transshipment port for the city of “Jever” and is now also an attractive tourist treat, for example with a large sandy beach (with nudist section) or with an indoor seawater wave pool and a guest and children's play house. One of the largest German land reclamation measures ever brought about 240 hectares to a large leisure area east of Hooksiel. Here is a 60-hectare artificial inland lake, the so-called "Hooksmeer". In the "Hooksmeer" there is a sailing school, a pedal boat rental, a surf bay with surf school, sports boat harbors and a great water ski lift. You will also find hiking, cycling and riding trails, a harness racing track, tennis courts and much more on the "Hooksmeer".
