Have stayed there a few times now all at different times of year. Staff, food and accommodation are all great. The bad thing about this place is the noise from the alfresco dining if you’re after a early night and at the weekends , when we’re normally there, is the aftermath of the music and too many cocktails 😆 other than that we recommend ✅

Good location, comfy bed. Room was a bit dusty. Room 6 was a bit noisy as it was opposite an outdoor dining and drinking area. Overall the room was good value for the money.

I stayed at the H and J for a long w/end and found everything excellent. The room was comfy and very clean. Food from hotel was wonderful. I would happily come there again to stay. Very handy to supermarket if u were wanting a few extra things.

Room Smelt like a wet Dog had peed in there

The room smelt putrid, like a wet dog that went to the toilet everywhere. We travelled here with kids and the carpet was wet. I think they must have allowed dogs in the room to have it smell this bad. No rooms left at hotel, so not worth complaining but the cleaners who came in the day before we moved in and then after the first night should have done something about it. If anything they should have tried to deodorise. It was that bad, I had to swap sides of the bed with my wife as she couldn’t handle the smell.  One of the kids in the single bed had to put her head at other end of the bed as the massive smell was unsleepable. Not a good result from a hotel owned by the big brands
