Avis pour Capitol Hill Apt by Union Station, Sleeps 4
We enjoyed our stay. A quick Uber gets you to everything in DC. The townhouse is in a safe area on a quiet street. Minimal noise from above. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and Whole Foods was in walking distance as are a few restaurants.
Overall, the apartment was very nicely, decorated and well stocked with everything you would need. The only observation I would make is if youâre over 6â 3â there were some challenges with low doorways.
We had a great time. Easy walking distance to the H street car and many restaurants and bars.
A little early morning noise from the family upstairs but itâs manageable.
We had such a wonderful stay at this property. It was exactly as described in the listing and even better. Located in a neighborhood, we felt like we were part of a community very soon after arriving, including getting to know "Fred" across the street who seems to be known as the Street Mayor and is full of stories, anecdotes, and a connection to DC's past.
We needed several more blankets and as soon as we asked for them, we had them in just a few hours.
When we arrived, we realized that we didn't have control over the AC, which at first worried us that we might not be cool enough. However, we were very pleased with the temperature that the owners upstairs kept the Central AC at and we were able to enjoy cool mornings with the window open by the front door that included being seranaded by Northern Cardinals, Mockingbirds, Robins, and a sonorous Gray Catbird!
The location is so well-suited for a visit to DC's main attractions as well as to public transporatation. We had no need for a car and enjoyed getting to know this part of the city (we lived in the Shaw Neighborhood for several years around 2004).
There is some noise that you will hear from upstairs but this was never an issue for us.
We highly recommend visiting Sidamo Coffee Shop while you're there and to just enjoy walking through the neighborhood on your way to the Mall or Union Station.
There is a Whole Foods and a Giant grocery store within 5 minutes walk and many other places to eat, peruse, and enjoy!
I really cant say enough nice things about this place! Even better than it looks in the photos. Lovely, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. Great neighborhood, convenient to Metro trains, groceries & restaurants. Zero complaints.
