The location is safe. Parking is accessible on the property. The house was clean and neat as shown in the photos. The AC works well in the hot weather. The host was very attentive and communicated well. Our stay was comfortable and it feels like home.

The house is very spacious. However, even in July, the 2 bedrooms downstairs were too cold to to sleep in at night and family had to bunk in other rooms with other people. Which is not what they signed up for. When you walk in you get the overwhelming smell of cleaner trying to mask dog pee. The grounds are not kept up. The grass was literally to our knees and the bushes outside the front door were so overgrown that theyd hit you going in or out of the house. The house wasnt cleaned very well and had spiders in nearly every room of the house and mold on the bathroom ceiling and in the shower. l went out and bought a swiffer and some cleaning supplies for the bathrooms. There are only 2 televisions in the entire house, one in the living room and one in the master bedroom so if youre using the rest of the rooms just know there isnt any tvs for other guests. The house isnt kept up by the management company because the lights are hanging literally by wires in the kitchen and the chandelier in the entryway has the shades falling off. The dishwasher racks were rusty. The place does have a new washer and dryer which was the best thing about our stay. However the water pressure is so bad that you cant run the washer or dishwasher and run the sink or shower at the same time. Seriously it was a trickle. Our check was at 11. However at 9 a.m. the cleaners were at the front door ready to clean trying to rush us out of the house which was really irritating. I would not stay here again.

Clean, Quiet, and Roomy

This place was a great choice for our visit to DC college campuses, the zoo, and the Cherry Blossom Festival. It’s conveniently located to park and ride the Metro on the red line. Parking was a breeze, the kitchen is pretty well set up for feeding a family (it doesn’t have a blender or kitchen towels at this time and the dishwasher racks are on their last leg), and the furniture is all comfortable. The WiFi signal was not consistently good throughout the house (the living room TV could not keep a signal at all), so I was glad I packed our hotspot for our online students. Our phones and tablets were fine, but laptops and the TVs struggled. Water pressure was good and towels and linens were soft, but the hot water is *extremely* hot so be careful with that. Overall the place has a few quirks that could stand to be leveled out, but it’s generally a comfortable, quiet, convenient stay that I would book again.

No hot water, cut off heat

The property had no hot water upon our arrival. We contacted the property manager in the next morning and heard back at 6 pm that night. They called a plumber, who determined there was an issue with the water heater. The manager told us that they couldn't fix the problem during our stay, which I understood, and we discussed a rebate of part of the price. However, that night we woke up very cold and discovered they had turned off the gas to the house, and it was below 60 degrees by morning. None of us slept well, defeating the purpose of having a house for this trip. We complained to the management company that we would have moved out if we had known there was no heat (or spare blankets), and got a very unhelpful response. They ended up refunding less than 10% of the total cost, even though we had to take showers at a nearby rec center all weekend and did not get a good sleep the last night. It was a very disappointing customer experience. This is even more so an issue given that it was obvious the problems were the house were due to poor maintenance. Several plumbing and electrical fixtures were damaged or broken, the dishwasher was full of unwashed, crusty dishes, and the management company was not equipped to respond to issues. I would have been more understanding if the management company had done more to compensate us for these issues, showing they wanted to rectify it.

False Advertisements

The following location: 505 Silver Spring Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910 is trash. I booked in March of (2024), with a deposit, and last payment was taken in October (2024). I was advised I could check in the home on Thursday, November 14, 2024, any time after 3pm. I arrived at the home on the 14th after driving 12 hours at approximately 3:30 pm. I noticed that there was a Washington Gas note on the front door advising "Sorry we missed you." I went inside the home, and it was very cold, about 52 degrees inside, and quickly realize the gas was not on. I called the homeowner, who advised me that she would work to get the gas on and asked that I give her to 7pm. I agree and told her that not a minute after 7pm will I wait and if it was not on, I would leave and cancel the agreement. I left and me and my family went and got something to eat. When I returned at approximately 7:10pm, I noticed a Washington gas truck parked in front of the house. The gas was not on and there was no hot water. The hot water heater was bad.

Okay

It was a beautiful place, however the hot water or heater did not work our entire stay. We had to take COLD showers. The water wasn’t lukewarm, it was freezing. It was super cold at night since the heater didn’t work. It was almost unbearable. We did reach out to the host and someone came out, however the issue wasn’t fixed. Other than that, the home was beautiful and in a great area.

A quirky house, located conveniently to Washington DC

The house had some quirks, but overall it fit the bill. It’s not in the best part of town, but I always felt safe. There were some electrical issues with some things not working in the kitchen, but the contact was helpful and sent someone to look at it, but it wasn’t a good time for us since we were putting kids to bed, so we just told them we were ok not to fix it until we left. He did also send trash bags when I mentioned there weren’t any. Overall, it met our needs, and we had a nice time!

Pleasant surprise

We had a perfect vacation and the place was kept nice. Our checkin time was 3.00 pm, when we arrived there, some cleaning was still in progress so they asked us to come an hr later. it was a bit strange as we were all tired and wanted to get some rest..but had to go to cofee shop and kill sometime..once we entered the property, everything is fine.
