No power means no water

The house overall was as advertised it had a bit outdated/older bedding & nets with holes in them but not a huge issue just an easy thing to replace to make it a bit nicer. The main issue was water from the second day there was intermittent water. We were informed this was due to power being low voltage or off and since a pump got water to the house. Though other units in the compound near had power and water. The property director/on the grounds manager was not very helpful in quickly fixing the issues raised. On the third day all of power went out in Watamu, that we understood since we know Kenya Power was the issue. But 2 days without water for 6 people is a real issue since we needed it to bath and cook among other things. In addition the chef that was recommended Alex was not very good at all. We had purchased items and had very basic Swahili items on the menu and he was still struggling to make them in a timely manner or tasty. We also realized that we was taking some food for himself and other workers, we would have given him some of the food if he had just asked but he did not. Overall I would not recommend this place unless they get a back-up generator or fix the water only working if there is power. I would also suggest finding a different chef than the one recommended.

Clean and peaceful

The villa is beautiful, the staff helpful and Marco is quick to resolve any issue. Wonderful place, well priced for a group with about a ten minute walk to beach access. See you soon!

Beautiful Gem - great for families

We sincerely enjoyed our 1 week vacation. Erasmus - the chef took very well care of us. The house and pool was as the pictures shows - maybe even nicer. Beautiful Watamu Bay just around the corner. Great restaurants just in a few minutes drive away. Same for a great supermarket Blue Marmelade. I can just recommend this place - we will for sure come back. PS. Just one side note - be careful with a guy named Joffre who walks in and out of the compound to sell excursions to you. He is not sincere. Offers bad even unsafe trips. Better plan ahead your fishing or snorkeling trip with other operators.

Consigliatissimo, bella casa, relax garantito

Bellissima casa, spaziosa, pulita, un posto tranquillo dove passare giorni di relax senza alcun pensiero. Noi eravamo in cinque ma vivibile comodamente in otto quanti sono i posti letto disponibili, fa parte di un complesso di 4 case con ognuno il proprio posto all'aperto con tavolo, sedie ed ampi e comodi divani, piscina bellissima in comune con lettini, fortuna per noi non c'erano altri ospiti e ne abbiamo usufruito liberamente. Il cuoco, Erasmo, persona disponibile, gentile e veramente molto bravo ci ha deliziato e viziato per tutti i giorni di permanenza. Non abbiamo conosciuto Marco, il proprietario, ma i suoi genitori, persone deliziose e molto disponibili. La spiaggia più vicina è raggiungibile con una passeggiata di 10 mn. a piedi, non abbiamo usufruito della scaletta interna. Sicuramente se ci sarà un'altra occasione di tornare non avrei dubbi sulla scelta della casa.

Very nice!

Well, the villa was lovely and the people are lovely to. However we did have 2 little issues. Firstly, on our arrival we were shown 2 bedrooms. I asked where is the third bedroom and was told it was occupied by other people. I rented the whole villa which comprised of 3 bedrooms. I was told because there were only 4 of us we didn’t need the 3rd bedroom. I was not happy. I purposely booked accommodation with 3 bedrooms because i didn’t want my father to share a bedroom with my daughter as he snores! David the manager was very apologetic and said they will move out in 2 days time. My father slept on the sofa for those 2 nights. My second issues is, listed in the description is a washing machine. There was not! There is a very good laundry service which charge a small amount but that isn’t the point. I couldn’t wash my beach towels or clothes as i would have like. This didn’t spoil my holiday but Marco please change the description to Laundry service available. Now, having mentioned my 2 issues the rest of the holiday was fantastic! The villa was kept very clean, the beds are comfortable, the outside space is great and the staff are super lovely. There are plenty of restaurants but I recommend ordering a taxi and getting them to pick you a restaurant. We were taken to some great places that you wouldn’t see from the road. All the locals are friendly and they made us feel welcome where ever we went. We met a guide on the beach called Jodfrey on day 2 and he took us on a blue safari, definitely recommend this. No need to book excursion through travel companies, it nicer to book though the locals as the money goes straight to them. Would we go back to Watamu? Yes definitely. Would we recommend this villa? Yes definitely.

"sono stata ospite in questa bellissima struttura dal 22 dic 11 al 06 gen 2012 e devo dire che vale la pena trascorrere le proprie vacanze in una villa cosi bella! personale simpaticissimo e professionale, il cuoco bravissimo, villa spaziosa e pulita, giardino meraviglioso e curatissimo e grande piscina! il mare non dista molto anche se si necessita di un tuk tuk per le spiagge attrezzate... i proprietari che a volte sono presenti in loco sono persone gentilissime e in particolare un plauso a fanny che ci ha affittato un piccolo angolo di paradiso cosi'' come aveva descritto!"

"Siamo partite in 6 .... ...

"Siamo partite in 6 .... tutte femmine, lasciando a casa preoccupazioni e mariti... E'' da 7 anni che in autunno, ci concediamo una settimana al caldo, giusto per staccare la spina, ed in cuor nostro credo che quella trascorsa in Kenya sia stata la vacanza migliore in assoluto. La casa di Fanny è bellissima e confortevole al massimo. Il cuoco ''Ngala è stato fantastico nel prepararci cenette a lume di candela, serate di cucina italiana, e serate africane. I masai sorvegliavano i nostri sonni ed inoltre consigliamo vivamente di affidarsi a Donald per quanto riguarda l''organizzazione di safari ed uscite in barca...insomma ... tutto è filato per il meglio in questo soggiorno all''insegna del relax.Consigliamo quindi di abbandonare lo stereotipo di villaggio all-inclusive e di scegliere l''alternativa di abitazione privata in affitto. Ne gioverete nello spirito e nel cuore. Mariella, con Gianna, Nuccy, Rita, Silvia e Daniela."

"La casa è semplicemente ...

"La casa è semplicemente stupenda e realizzata con gusto. Immersa in un giardino curato e ricchissimo di piante. Relax totale senza la confusione dei soliti resort. Personale di servizio splendido! Piscina con acqua di mare in comune con le altre villette (5 in totale) sempre pulitissima (tutti i giorni) così come la casa. Consiglio la soluzione con il cuoco (il nostro si chiamava Beka, bravissimo anche con piatti italiani) che vi consente di mangiare ciò che volete senza la fatica di dover cucinare dopo una giornata di mare. Se vi piace il pesce (fresco!) acquistatelo direttamente dai pescatori locali che passano a casa a portarvelo. La struttura inoltre si trova poco distante dal mare (una passeggiata a piedi) ed è un ottimo punto d''appoggio per visitare le bellissime spiaggie dei dintorni o organizzarsi un safari. Per fare ciò affidatevi ai consigli del simpaticissimo custode del complesso (Abraham) che vi farà arrivare macchina e autista senza fregature. Che dire di altro? Per me e mia moglie è stata la prima esperienza con questa formula e ci siamo trovati benissimo, senza alcun problema (che durante una vacanza è la cosa fondamentale) tant''è che torneremo il prima possibile. Dimenticavo: proprietari (conoscuti in loco) simpaticissimi, corretti e disponibili! Che altro volete di più?"

"Casa molto bella, spaziosi e accoglienti gli interni, curati il giardino e la piscina. Personale molto gentile e premuroso, così come i proprietari, molto disponibili Unica mancanza le zanzariere sopra i letti. La spiaggia più vicina risente molto delle mareee e non è di sicuro la più bella di Watamu "

"La villa e'' splendida e si trova in un contesto meravigliso di assoluta pace e tranqullita''. I locali molto ampi e spaziosi e ben accessoriati di pale e condizionatori ( le camere); il parco con le molteplici qualità di piante e fiori e'' curato quotidianamente dalle abili mani del giardiniere.... Idem per la grande piscina con acqua di mare: Spettacolare. Il personale a disposizione e'' di una gentilezza e solarità unica: sempre disponibili e servizievoli e gentili: tutto molto molto bello. Una vacanza in una realtà che consiglio assolutamente aTutti. Ps. Un ringraziamento speciale ai titolari, persone meravigliose e molto serie, che nella figura di Fanny esprimono il massimo della disponibilità a gestire le varie richieste di noi clienti."

"La casa è molto bella e ben tenuta; il personale estremamente disponibile e cordiale. La piscina una risorsa indispensabile e, per fortuna, perfettamente curata ogni giorno. Il mare, purtroppo, non completamente fruibile a causa delle maree della zona che non permettono sempre di approfittare della discesa privata e costringono ad un percorso a piedi un pò più lungo e accidentato."
