Welcome to The Dwelling Place at the Lakes! Come experience this brand new, entirely remodeled Luxurious Lake Home that boasts 65 feet of lake frontage, sleeps up to 15 guests, and the interior has been completely redone to welcome you into a stunning and peaceful haven at the lake. Enjoy your morning coffee on the beautiful wrap around deck, then head out to the spacious beach area to relax, jump in the lake, enjoy kayaks, paddle boat, and private boat ramp right from our driveway!

The space
This beautiful, spacious 4 bedroom, 3 full bath Lake Home offers sleeping space for 15 guests: 4 king beds, one queen bed (one king bed in each bedroom, plus a sectional in the living area with a pull out queen!) as well as bunk beds in the basement open area, a day bed with trundle in the second floor master suite, and a futon.

This home sits on a lovely, quiet spot on West Lakes which is a four lake chain with river access, and all Sport Lake on the main basin. (Short motor ride across the lake to the channel that leads to all sport lake!)

Private boat access from our driveway (ideal for smaller boats! Larger boats we suggest the public boat access point!)

Boat Rental is available from West Lakes Boat Mart.

This property is 26 minutes from Chain O’ Lakes State Park, 51 minutes from downtown Fort Wayne, and 35 minutes from Auburn.

House was not cleaned well. It was bad enough it grossed several of us out. Food spots in/near the kitchen, dirty mirrors, a hair in the shower that was there upon arrival, spider webs, etc. Dishwasher had dishes in it upon arrival. I was excited to stay at what looked like a great place according to the photos, but it was disappointing to say the least.

Highly Disappointed

To say I’m disappointed is a high understatement. Starting off with the miscommunication I thought I would just give you grace because things happen. The pictures we saw in your advertisement are misleading in size and disappointing to say the least. The esthetics of your place on the surface do not match the underlying issues. -Dirty baseboards and windowsills (my SIL cleaned the sills when we first got there)-Ants and spiders are awful - in the basement they are all over-Beds are bad - pain from lying in them was excruciating for me personally and uncomfortable for most everyone else.-Dirty bathroom vent in basement and main floor bathroom-The bathrooms all have rust in toilets and showers.-The main bathroom has a scum layer in the sink and tub-I tried to clean them but they need attention. -Backs of all the chairs in the kitchen are filthy -Sinks in kitchen and main bathroom are slow draining and need cleaned out.-There is no comfortable seating in your home to relax in and only one TV with mot enough seating to hold even our small family. When I read NEW LAKEHOUSE in your advertisement I thought we would have a better experience. Just highly disappointed by what we got once we arrived. This is the most we have ever paid for a week at the lakes and we overspent and overestimated what we were getting for it.

Our family of 15 had a very fun vacation at this lake home. It nicely accommodated all of us with a well-stocked kitchen, plenty of room for two boats at the dock, a nice swim area (about 5-1/2’ at end of dock and shallower closer to shore), a nice firepit for making s’mors, 2 kayaks, and a canoe for peaceful trips on the water. And Rome City is only a couple miles away to enjoy the ice cream parlor Sundaes on Sylvan.
