Great check in process and very clear instructions! Absolutely the cutest coziest room with a comfy bed and pillows. Had we stayed longer we would have definitely used the fire pits and smores and the hiking trail! The cloesness to ammenities like gas stations and other food is great, but we mostly chose it for the easy access to Skyline Dr.! The only bad point was the noise from the heating system. It could he included as white noise, if it didnt shut off so much on us. It reved back up and woke us up a few times until we got used to it.
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Grey Pine Lodge. The room had enough space for us and it was clean and well appointed. The charm was knowing we were staying in a 1950âs roadside motel but had been brought up to modern boutique style hotel standards. Itâs proximity to Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway was perfect. The many wineries in Shenandoah wine country are less than 15 minutes away as well as the town of Waynesboro which has plenty of local restaurants and any other popular eatery you can imagine. Plenty of shopping abounds and any big box store is a short drive away. As others have mentioned the wall heater/ac unit is rather noisy, but we like to sleep with background noise so it didnât really bother us. The only real complaint we had was the lack of a properly fitting shower curtain causing a puddle of water on the floor every time we tried to use it. We just sacrificed one of the limited amounts of towels to clean up. It would have been nice to have had a few extras. The self serve Pine Shop was stocked with the essentials in case you needed anything if you didnât want to drive the 10 minutes into town. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.
