The Space:

Come visit the rocky and beautiful Northern California Coast with a stay at this oceanfront, two-bedroom beach cottage! Located in the quiet and idyllic community of Westport, you'll enjoy WiFi and a cozy cast iron stove during your stay here.



Westport is only 16 miles north of Fort Bragg and 25 miles from Victorian-inspired Mendocino. Perched upon a bluff, this Ocean Mystique getaway offers amazing panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean from the deck and living room. Right in town, there's the Old Abalone Pub - stop by for weekend brunch, espresso drinks, afternoon tea, or even a nice dinner out. Galleries, shops, and more are just a few miles down California's scenic Highway One.



Inside this Westport getaway, you'll find a spacious, open floor plan complete with comfortable sofas, a gas fireplace for chilly coast evenings, and a TV to sit back and unwind. There's plenty of room for up to six adults to socialize and relax.



You'll have a dining room and a full kitchen, so making home-cooked meals will be easy. And after dinner, head out to the deck for an amazing sunset over the ocean. You can stay warm and dry inside while you watch a dramatic winter storm. There's even a washer and dryer in case your clothes get a little crumpled or dirty during your stay.



The two bedrooms have a queen-size bed and futon, respectively, and there's also a futon out in the living room. There's plenty of room for you and your dogs - welcome- to stretch out and relax. Two bathrooms make sure that getting ready in the morning will be hassle-free! It's the perfect retreat for a California Coast getaway!



In town, a community store, gas station, and restaurant are just a few blocks away for supplies or even a glass of wine and an afternoon snack. This Westport retreat is ideal for getting away and recharging right by the shore. Check-in Form: To ensure a smooth and secure stay for all guests, we kindly require completion of our short check-in form after booking. Pet Policy: We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs (50 lbs or under). A nightly pet fee applies and all pets must be disclosed at booking. Pets may not be left unattended unless crated, must stay off furniture, and guests are responsible for cleanup and reporting any damage. This rental was EXACTLY what I was looking for when I wanted to unplug and escape for a few days! The location/views were outstanding, the kitchen was well-supplied for cooking, there were plenty of games and puzzles available for entertainment. This may be the first rental I've had where the actual place was as good or better than the pictures. Would absolutely return!

The view and the weather was beautiful

The house was nice, it needs some updates. There are lights that don't work, bad pluggins. But, overall the house provided us a beautiful view and a nice family reunion.

Simple, clean, perfect views

We loved it here. The community is quiet, the little general store had the couple of extra things we didn’t get that we needed when we were in fort bragg. We felt safe to walk there, and it was quick and easy. The view was just incredible, and we loved how secluded we felt. Kitchen has everything we needed, clean and well appointed. We would absolutely stay here again.

Dishonest property management company

We booked this property because the property management company, VACASA, told us there WAS beach access from the backyard, but that was a lie. The booking profile also listed “beachfront,” however, when we arrived we found no access. After phone calls with VACASA, we were told there was no access and that to get to a beach we would have to walk down the street, through a field, and down a bunch of stairs. Having beach access was the main reason we booked the property so it was very frustrating to learn we’d been lied to. Also, VACASA was not willing to offer any consolation or willing to remedy the situation in any way. Be cautious, if you book this property management company is not honest. Also, whatever cleaning products were used were overpowering and gave us a headache. If you're sensitive to smells this is not the home for you. Lastly, the town was a disappointment no charm here. It was also more on the outskirts than we had hoped. I wish we could have stayed in Mendocino just an hour from here. I will say the views were awesome, and the hot tub in the evening was great! But if you're looking for a cozy home in a quaint little town with beach access, this is NOT the home for you.

Ocean View Getaway

Beautiful views from both bedrooms and living space. Enjoyed coming back to a beautiful place after a day of sightseeing and beach walking. The only complaint was no coffee in the beach house. We stopped by for a few groceries on the way, didn't pick up coffee as all places we've stayed in the past had complimentary coffee for the coffee maker. But all in all, was a fun filled week!

House Plumbing Issues

House was booked in the early 2024. The day of our vacation while traveling we were informed that we could not go to property due to plumbing issues. Vacasa moved us to another house. We were supposed to enjoy an ocean view and instead were stuck in the sand dunes. We were disappointed in our stay and will not book this house again.

10 Year Anniversary + a đŸ¶

Absolutely beautiful location. Small, quiet town with perfect little general store. Great place for peace and quite. Back deck and hot tub were an amazing addition to the gorgeous view. Fireplace was perfectly placed to enjoy while still being able to see the ocean view which came in handy when the rain rolled in. Functional kitchen with that perfect ocean view. Loved being able to wake uo in the morning and enjoy the view from the upper deck. Overall 10 out of 10 and will be recommending to anyone who needs a relaxing, peaceful getaway. âŁïž We will be making this an annual vacation spot!

Loved the views! It didn’t matter if we were inside, outside, or upstairs the view of the ocean was spectacular. All that you want and need without having to go travel. Good amenities! Only negative was the slow internet. It just forces you to go do more outdoors.
