Really warm welcome at the hotel, taken to our room which was very clean cosy and snuggly. Amenities in the room excellent and we were catered for well, including sufficient space for the dogs.
Ate two nights in the bar/restaurant, staff very good, food lovely, excellent selection for gluten free which was amazing to experience.
A lovely restful couple of days and made
To feel exceptionally welcome
Friendly staff.
Lovely food and drink.
Beautiful room but was a little bit noisy as we were above a speaker in the bar area and could easily hear people speaking.
However it was such a lovey place we would definitely stay again!
Nadia at check-in to dinner service was amazing &so kind. We had the roughest day & ended up getting to the Smugglers Inn after 7p, 1 room left & she was so sweet. The food is top notch at dinner! EST weâve had so far on our two week trip haunting all over Bath, Cornwall, & London!!!
A simply wonderful destination. Shelley and her team are faultless. Not often you find a team, a place, an environment where everything is spot on. The founders spirit and ethos has a moral compass proven by the quality of every interaction we had with all who worked there. Loved itâŠ
While the property was lovely and in a beautiful location, the staff were friendly and the experience was overall great it was let down by two things.
1) the food was all frozen food heated up. I doubt the kitchen had more than an oven, a microwave and a fryer. I was expecting freshly made gastro pub food and was very disappointed.
2) the carpark is very small and often has no place to park. There should be bays dedicated to the residents. You donât want to have to lug bags for half a mile along the road! There are two electric charging bays and the entire stay they were occupied by petrol cars. O policing was even attempted.
Ideal location for walking along coastal paths and going on beach.Ice jugs of tap water replenished on request, comfy beds and rooms very clean. However parking on arrival was a nightmare,no allocated parking spaces for residents,no seating area in pub specifically reserved for residents .Menu for Sunday evening dining restricted as a third of menu they had ran out of food !! and could of gone somewhere else .Waitress for evening meal appeared harassed and was rude therefore no tip was left.
Very helpful staff- a young cohort with lots of energy.
Room was really nicely designed, some thoughtful touches. Bedding was excellent. Unfortunately the shower door came off and fell on me whilst in the shower, but we were offered a bottle of wine by way of an apology (thank you).
Pub does need a really good scrub, starting to feel rather 'sticky'.
Location is excellent for a walk to Durdle Door or Lulworth the following day. Beach is very rocky and at present you would struggle to access with mobility issues or a buggy due to rockfall meaning the coastal path is the only access.
Food was terrible.
Lovely old style pub with beams with a stream set in a valley leading to the beach just relaxing peaceful beautiful setting lovely for a couple to stay which we were rooms was lovely very cosy and homely feel super clean lovely bed just such a nice experience with a included breakfast traditional and continental which was locally produced ingredients xx
Nice pub/hotel with new rooms, although overpriced
Nice, friendly pub/hotel. Good condition in general but with a few small issues that could be improved.
No lightbulb in one of the lamps, kettle not descaled, fan in bathroom not working and window right above the outdoor seating so quite noisy because the rooms were very warm and window needed to be kept open.
Pub food was fine and breakfast quality okay.
Had the room been ÂŁ120 a night, would have been good value but actually was ÂŁ200, albeit using Tesco vouchers, so only paid taxes. Had it been cash, I would have felt it was very over-priced!
Overall, very pleasant although overpriced.
