My trip was canceled as I stood on the porch trying to get in the front door.I made my VRBO reservation six or seven months ago for my daughter's wedding in Michigan and my final payment was made just a few days before the check-in date. As the trip approached, I sent several emails to the host, just touching base on some details, but did not get any response.I continued to get emails from VRBO and Evolve, all the way up to the day of arrival, with check-in information and details. We drove from South Carolina and showed up in the late afternoon. After several tries to enter the code to open the front door, I noticed that there were car keys on the table just inside the door and shoes and clothes were scattered inside. My wife walked around to the back and there was a dog in the walk-out basement. There was definitely someone living there! Then I noticed "Your trip had been canceled" at the top of my reservation screen and I received a cancelation email at the same time. Besides apologies from customer support, we were left to figure out our lodging problem ourselves.

Great time

We were in Michigan, from Indiana, for a conference. This provided the space and comfort we needed. Plenty of space to move around for 12 people. Had challenges communicating with Evolve but everything worked out fine. I would recommend the house and would stay again.

Meet new baby

We came in to Michigan to meet our newest granddaughter. The house was conveniently close to the new family. Plenty of things to do for the older grand kids. Maybe have a few younger games, tic tac toe. Candyland, Chutes and Ladders (for suggestions.) I had grampa bring these from Ohio. Loved having the highchair. Also a few bag chairs for around the fire would be nice. If house sleeps 8-12 you should have seating for that many. Overall the house was perfect. Great location, plenty to do Loved Scarletts playground in Commerce. and Loved the boat. Older kids loved the Kayaks. Perfect place to relax.

White Lake stay

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds were comfortable (even the sofa beds in the basement!), the highchairs and pack-and-play were great, and the waterfront space and comfortable. (Be aware that the front of the house faces a very busy road and there's a "dive bar" with music a few places down. But it didn't really bother us.) We rented the pontoon and that was a great addition to our stay. There are a few things I wish for this property. *I wish the kitchen table was able to accommodate more people. Fortunately, we brought a 6' folding table and additional chairs, otherwise our party of 7 would not have been able to sit together for dinner, play games, etc. *It would be nice to be able to float or swim in the lake right at the property. The water is very full of weeds and the spongy bottom is unpleasant. There's no good way to get in and out of the water as there is no ladder off the dock. *We didn't use the hot tub much. It was hot and working fine. But it had a very unpleasant smell. We understood that it used well water but it seemed like some chemical treatments could help alleviate the smell. Overall we enjoyed our stay here!

The view is amazing

Came to Michigan for a wedding with my adult children. Loved having the kayaks and outdoor seating areas to relax in. The hot tub heater wasn’t working and it needed to be cleaned so we were not able to use it. We did rent the pontoon boat for a day. Tonya the property manager was so great. Responded quickly. Would definitely stay again. The road to the property is very busy. Keep that in mind if traveling with small children or dogs. The property was really lovely inside and very comfortable

Amazing Location BUT,

Everything was on par and/or even better than the listing. Except he amenity is not available and/or in working condition which was the hot tub. I had message before arriving but still no fix. That was the filter used to find this location and sadly it was inoperable. Thank you for letting us stay at this beautiful little house

Lake living getaway

This property was exactly what we were looking for. Lake front property we enjoyed using the kayaks. We also rented the pontoon that was great to take cruises around the lake and to do a little fishing. Cought fish right off the dock. The beds were comfortable. Bring some water from drinking the the water at the house is high in iron. Everything was nice and clean. House was stocked with towels for both showers and beach use. It is located two doors down from spraders on the lake, that has live music and karaoke with a food truck. We would love to stay here again!

Perfect family vacation!

The property is perfectly located on Oxbow Lake. Beautiful sunsets and view. Enjoyed the swans and ducks. The house was very clean and had everything we needed including plenty of towels, beach towels and linens and pillows. Very comfortable! Kitchen was great for all 7 of us. It had a lot of silverware, dishes, cups, coffee cups, cooking knives/utensils and all in very good condition. The washer and dryer worked great. We used the 3 kayaks everyday! The pontoon was very comfortable and perfect for family to cruise the lake and they really enjoyed swimming off the boat. The large gas grill was also very clean and worked well. The deck couch area and lawn chairs were exactly what we needed! Having two full bathrooms and the basement walk out with large couch and second large TV was perfect for us. Third TV in the master. The three kids, age 2.5, 5 and 9, loved the double bunk beds. The master had a lot of room, with dressing table, and large open closet. Plenty of nice hangers in all rooms. The hot tub required some maintenance while we were there but it was handled quickly by the contact person. Communication was easy. The recommended restaurant “Stella’s Table” and nearby Hess-Hathaway park with farm animals and excellent playground were perfect. Well water in the whole lake community is one negative for us but we are city folk. We just brought extra water to drink. Highly recommend! We had a great time!

Relaxing and enjoying!

This is an amazing place to stay for a relaxing view of the lake! The bedrooms upstairs are comfy and have plenty of room for all of us and our clothes. The pack and play was a surprise and a great help as well when my cousin came up for the day with her toddler! My pup loved the dog toys and played for hours with the kids in the backyard which had a cute fireplace and comfy chairs to hang out in. We were able to take a few swims in the lake in between the storms and my niece very much enjoyed rock hunting in the lake. Overall it was a relaxing holiday weekend and the host was very welcoming and had great recommendations for places to eat and have fun. We absolutely recommend this place for a getaway with friends and/or family, great for kids and pets and adults alike.
