This Ptarmigan Village townhome comes fully updated and primed for a year-round retreat. High-end finishes include bamboo floors, granite countertops, and newer fixtures including Casper-brand mattresses. The main living area boasts a wall-mounted smart TV over a handsome stone fireplace. The full kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need to easily plan and prepare home-cooked meals. A beautiful private deck showcases incredible lake views and comes furnished with a gas grill and a dining table for outdoor leisure or alfresco meals. A lower-level, walk-out patio seating area includes a hammock for those afternoon naps. The home's row-end location within the complex provides added privacy during your stay and this condo features one of the few layouts that does not require spiral stair access, making it more accessible than other options in the complex. The mounted mini-split air-conditioner in the loft supplies year-round comfort throughout the space.
During your stay, enjoy full access to the amenities at Ptarmigan Village including two pools (one indoor and one outdoor), an outdoor hot tub, a dry sauna, the trout-stocked Elmer's pond, a playground, tennis, pickleball, basketball courts, and hiking trails throughout the village that can take you all the way up to the ski village at the top of the mountain or all the way down to the lake. Ptarmigan's private beach on Whitefish Lake is a short drive down the mountain.
Just a short drive down the mountain, the town of Whitefish offers a bounty of great restaurants, shops, live music/theatre, festivals, and a vibrant nightlife. Choose from over nine golf courses in the area where you can cross-country ski in the winter, 10 lakes nearby for boating, jet skiing, snowmobile, fishing/ice fishing, or just soaking up the sun on Whitefish Beach. There are horseback riding and sleigh rides in the snow, or yoga retreats outdoors. Glacier National Park and Glacier International Airport are both within easy reach of the town.

3-Story Cabin, Had Trouble Accessing Private Beach
We were surprised to find it a 3-story cabin as we had a grandparent with us (it should be noted that NO bedrooms are on main level). Also, had a major disappointment in accessing private beach after renting paddle boards for the day. The office was not available to provide us with lock code. When we reached out to property manager, they simply apologized for the inconvenience. For the premium rent we paid for 2 nights (not to mention cost of renting paddle boards) that was not OK. Also, the pond that is supposedly stocked with trout is not taken care of and covered in algae.
The property was beautiful, tucked away from the main drag. We enjoyed the quiet and the wildlife. Some housekeeping concerns were ghe dishwasher (it was clogged and gross, picture below) and the outlet in the downstairs king bedroom sparked when we tried plugging anything in so we didnt use that one. We also had ants in the basement but that wasnt a huge deal. My daughter was bummed our condo didnt have a hammock even though it was advertised to and we did not have Netflix despite what was advertised. We enjoyed the deck and watching the deer roam below and it was great having laundry on site. The indoor pool and hot tub were super close to our condo and were wonderful. My daughter loved the loft bedroom! All in all we enjoyed our stay.
This was certainly one of the best residences that I have stayed in through VRBO. The property and location served our purposes as well as could be expected.
