Hotel and room was amazing, but there were areas of the bathroom that needed a bit more attention to cleaning for example the shower edges. Staff were great especially Tama was the best.

Overpriced and needs lots of improvements

I have been coming to Hayman Island for 30+ years and stayed in a variety of rooms over the years. The beach villa we stayed at has been slightly renovated, but is still tiered. The wall switches for the electric blinds and fans work only intermittently. . There were other peoples bags in our room when we arrived which was very “off putting” and each time we wanted ice it took 3 times to get it. We tried calling, emailing and texting (even going to reception to ask for it in person).They were very apologetic, but it just kept happening. On New Years Eve we wanted room service and the app just didn’t work properly. We had to order each meal separately and they arrived 20 mins apart, so my partner finished his meal before mine even arrived! On New Years Day we couldn’t even get a glass of champagne bc they said they don’t serve alcohol before 11am!?! Really? Our mini bar wasn’t replaced each day, and back in the day, it was all inclusive in that particular villa except the alcohol! The main pool area is very tired and for such an exclusive hotel needs a facelift! The best part of our stay (besides the Whitsundays itself) was the spa and hair salon which had great staff and service. For a room that was nearly $2k per night, I would assume the airport transfers would’ve been included, instead they charged us $440 PER person! My memories of Hayman island were overshadowed by all of these poor incidents. Our experience from all these poor incidents was a complete let down :-(

Great property but it needs modernisation and uplift. Three restaurants only. Good quality. No business centre No entertainment to speak of except for same singer with sams repertoire. Needs Newspapers and greater selection of books. Cleaning of rooms and toilets needs improvement.

Setting is fabulous, outlook fantastic, food incredible. All restaurant venues quality of food was excellent. Majority of staff were excellent, (Atama a standout). Staff need senior management in all areas as some staff were standing around talking more than serving. (Especially at the main pool area). This is not the young kids fault but lack of investment by upper management to supply and enforce high hospitality standards

Amazing spot however the hotel did not meet our standard of a 5 star hotel. Bed was uncomfortable, air conditioning didn’t work one night, there was a tray of of cigarettes in the outdoor shower, upon arrival we had to wait 1.5 hours for our room with no access to our baggage. All staff were 5 star and their service was amazing.

Its more like a 3 star than a 5 star hotel. A lot of missing to be on a premium level - this starts with unregulary housekeeping, limited trained staff, high prices vs less performance, et cetera
