This unique property is close to dining as well as having Boom City Restaurant in the building. There is no front desk, but there is no need. Keypads in and out of building as well as your personal room. I can't say enough about City Hall Grand Hotel.
Hotel and rooms were amazing. Each room was different with different styles, designs, fixtures, etc... The hotel sends you a code that you use to enter the building as well as for the door to your room amso there is no messing around with keys or key cards. Rooms were clean and entire building well kept, especially for being an older building (built 1893!). I ABSOLUTELY would stay here again.
It's a unique and really cool building. It does lack some of the amenities of a typical hotel, for sure. For me, I can't sleep unless it's dark, so the room was too bright for me. I also did not like the fact that the bathroom is open to the rest of the room. That alone would keep me from staying here again.
Pros: The property is unique as renovated Old City Hall. The rooms are large and with unique features. Access was by code.
Cons: We were told there was a restaurant, however not told it was not open for breakfast. There was a breakfast nook in the room, but we had not planned to make our own. The room heater above the ceiling was very loud turning on and off all night. There is no staff at the hotel to assist with luggage or replacing items.
Overall the property is great, and a change from the usual. However, some minor adjustments would make it better.
Great location. A few safety issues in the room. Should be a light next to the bed. Bed was too high for me to get in and out of. Shelf next to bed is at head height and very close. Dangerous when itâs pitch black in the room because there are no windows. Many steps to get into the front entrance. Not convenient when you are carrying a suitcase.
