There's no place like home, except here at Buffalo Mountain Getaway. Enjoy the rolling hills, a view of Floyd County's Buffalo Mountain, fish in the Burks Fork Creek, or hike to your delight. With so many things to do, you'll want to sit back on the porch and watch the sun set after a day of fun.

Welcome to Buffalo Mountain Getaway, a vacation cottage nestled near the Buffalo Mountain in Floyd County, VA. Stay in our beautifully decorated cottage and enjoy a little taste of the country. Situated on a real working beef farm, you're most likely to have a few of our residents checking you out as well.

Our farm is home to our cow-calf operation and was the original home place of Garver and Minnie Vaughn, grandparents to owner, Bradley Vaughn. The Vaughn's raised their children on Burks Fork, along with other uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

The house, originally built in the 1930's, was recently renovated from top to bottom. With 4 bedrooms, a spacious kitchen and dining area, you'll be pleased with your stay. The original hardwood floors have been restored and the bath updated. The master bedroom includes a queen bed, while the other bedroom on the main floor hosts a full size. Upstairs there is another full size as well as twin beds for the little ones. The basement level includes another bedroom with a full bed, bath with shower and a family room with plenty of space to spread out.

We are on a quiet little gravel road, surrounded by flowing streams and plenty of cattle. The breeze on the front porch is delightful and the views are amazing.

Our home is strictly no smoking. By accepting our terms, you agree to pay a fee of $150 for cleaning if the home has evidence of smoking.

Pet Policy:

We don't charge a pet fee, as we are pet people ourselves. Your pets are welcome, BUT YOU MUST LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE. Please understand that we WILL charge you an additional cleaning fee of $100 if we find pet hair on the linens, in the bed or on the furniture. As some folks are allergic, if we find pet hair, we have to do a more thorough cleaning. NO EXCEPTIONS. In addition, should your pet urinate or defecate on the rugs, furniture, etc. you will be charged either replacement costs or $150 professional cleaning fee, whichever is applicable.

You must be in control of your pet at all times.
Do not leave your pets unattended, unless they are crated.
You are responsible for any damage made by your pet.
And lastly, please pickup after your pet outside.
Just a few reminders:
1 - Pets allowed with permission, MAX 2 dogs, sorry NO cats.
2 - Absolutely NO Smoking of any kind
3 - Please do not move furniture
4 - Keep it clean. When you leave it should look the same as you entered, with the exception of bed linens and towels
5 - Remember it's our home, so treat it with respect
6 - There is a pack n' play at the cabin in case you need it.
7 - The grill is propane.
8 - Bring your own wood (and marshmallows) for the firepit. Rules for firepit are posted next to firepit on the fence.
