UNWIND AND RELAX – this peaceful retreat awaits you in a great location just around the corner from UNCW and a quick drive from Wrightsville Beach and the historic district. Plenty of room to spread out, this four bedroom, two bath home is fully equipped with all needs for your stay. Giant kitchen and dining room with access to a deck to the back yard offer the perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee or evening glass of wine overlooking the serene Japanese style garden.

Conveniently access the Cross City Trail through the private backyard gate The back unit (casita) on property might be occupied by owner or their
guests, therefore the drive-way and backyard might be shared at times. Casita (sleeps 2) may be rented together with this property.

Perfect location for dropping our daughter at school. We loved the house so much we booked again for our next visit! We had a small issue with hot water and Jody was incredibly responsive. Wonderful stay!

Short stay for a family wedding..wish we could have stayed longer. The place is absolutely beautiful, clean, convenient location, walking trails super close to UNCW. The house had everything imaginable for a large family gathering. ALL the kitchen supplies/utensils/cookware. The outside was an oasis where you could share a family dinner, swing in the porch, relax in the outdoor sofa. I can’t say enough. Stop looking and book here! We will definitely be coming back
 this time for a girls weekend!

The location worked well for us. The gardens were lovely. The nature walk was very nice. For a large family, the kitchen/dining was very good. Beds and linens lacked nice quality but were sufficient. Enjoyed our stay.

Enjoyed our weekend at Rising Sun Retreat. Property was exactly as listed. Perfect size & location for our family to gather. Loved the large, open kitchen that led to the massive deck area. The weather was the perfect temperature for us to enjoy being outside on the deck.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

When we pulled into the driveway there was a car parked there. I was not aware of this prior to booking. The small shed type building was being rented at the same time of our stay. I even had communication with the owner prior to arriving and was not told about this. So the driveway needed to be shared which made it very inconvenient to me and my guest. The main property description does not state the backyard guest house would be rented at the same time as the house to different people. It was stated on the check-in instructions the day of arrival The property is in need of maintenance!! The door locks/handle are stripped. Hard time getting in and out. The deck is needs a coat of paint as well as the table that was out there. Window are dirty. Very bland inside décor The inside lighting is terrible and there are no mirrors in the bedrooms. It made it difficult for 8 people to get ready. The only mirrors are in the bathrooms. The house did accommodate 8 people not problem. This was the one good thing. The is a extreme lack of communication. The property owner did provide a text line for any issues. The response time is extremely slow. The cleaners showed up at 9:20 to clean and check-out was 10:00 VRBO customer service is disappointing!
