An amazing house and a truly warm welcome from Alex and Kerry. We were served a well cooked English breakfast each morning that kept us going to the evening. There was a log fire in the lounge every evening and we had a well presented bedroom with a modern and spacious en-suite. If low ceilings are not your thing then it's probably best to avoid a 15th Century town house for your break.
Very welcoming, home from home B&B. Enjoyed meals, including evening take-away, in the idyllic garden.
Good parking, many walks, and pub within easy reach. One on the "must return" list!
It was quirky but a lovely place to stay. The stairs were challenging, but one would expect that in a cottage. The staff were very good, as was the food. Would stay there again when in the area.
This historic property has charm and style and he breakfast was very nice too. The only downside is that if you stay in the old house there are plenty of places to bang your head on due to the low ceilings and doors, but that is only to be expected in a property of this age.
We have enjoyed our stay at the Strand House immensely. The staff and proprietor are very helpful and very friendly. It feels like a home away from home. Breakfast is superb. The rooms are on the small side due to the house being old but very comfortable and cozy. Also, the house has a great common room which invites the guests to play, read, or chat. We will definitely return.
Lovely stay at Strand House this weekend. Very welcoming hosts, beautiful room with loads of character - low beams, so mind your head!!
Great breakfast, will come again in the spring, would love to explore the garden & the local area a bit more. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
Perfect location for a relaxing couple of days in a quiet location but with plenty of local colour and history to enjoy.. Owner occupied and run which ensures a great welcome and good food.
This is a very quaint, very old (three hundred years) so you have to expect a little building fatique even under the best of maintainence. The hotel was nicely located on the main road close to Rye. Not within walking distance to anything, although an easy drive either way to the old towns. Our floor sloped at least 10 inches from corner to corner and the door to the very very tiny bathroom was a head knocker. Very quaint but not really comfortable so to speak. It is the true flavor of England however and the staff and breakfast were great. They have an honor system open bar in the main room which was very nice after a long day of driving, and a lovely garden and path system around the hotel.
