Built in 1898 this typical Lakeland Gentleman’s residence is in an idyllic setting only a 15 minute stroll from the village in an area known as "millionaire's mile". Spacious and gracious this original coach house is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. With half an acre of beautiful garden with summer house and a large sun terrace at the front of the property you can enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and Lakeland fells .Special and memorable holidays stay with you for life and here at Storrs Lodge you will not be disappointed. Lovely stay

Large property that has stunning views. The rooms were big enough for 8 of us. The house was warm during the cold new year. We foubd the private lane so inly a short walk to windermere and its in a lovely area. Check in was easy, the kids liked the various gardens and we had a big new yrs eve meal atouvd tge large table. The multiple baghrooms were handy.

Pleasant few days

The house was great. Our only negative would be the garden as the lavendar at the front door could do with being cut back. The sun room in the garden looked lovely but the clematis covering it made it almost impossible to open the doors and the access to it was up a grass hillock which would not be easy for anyone with mobility issues. The swing was right behind a large shrub so making that difficult too.

Fantastic stay for family and dogs

We had a wonderful stay in this house..plenty of room for all the family and seperate ensuites were so helpful..thr kids had their own wing! The garden was secure for the dogs and it was so lovely with lots of different seating areas!

Beautiful property, Perfect location

Our family of 8 had a perfect week at this beautiful house. Jill graciously allowed us to check in early. There was plenty of room for all of us to spread out and relax. Beds were superbly comfortable and the neighborhood was very quiet with distant views of the lake. Having three bathrooms worked out very well too. The kitchen was a bit small for the size of the house but very well equipped and we cooked several meals easily, enjoying sitting around the large dining room table in the evenings. The location is a bit outside Bowness (making it quiet) in a lovely neighborhood and a short, pleasant (about 20 minute) walk into the town with many shops and restaurants (we liked the Hole in the Wall pub and Lucy’s on a Plate), the ferry to Ambleside and several fells walks. We would most definitely love to stay here again and it was great that we were able to include our two dogs on our holiday. Thank you Jill for a memorable stay!

Storres lodge situated in a Stunning setting , 18 mins walk to marina down private lane . Very quiet and secluded, beautiful gardens with 7 separate Seating areas lovely comfortable lounge very large dining area well equipped clean kitchen to ensuite one main bathroom

Wonderful stay!

My family and friends loved the property. It was immaculately clean and well presented and the kitchen had everything you could need! The bedrooms were beautifully presented and very comfortable. The outside area at the front is well thought out and we used the seating area several times. All in all, it’s a lovely property in an excellent location.

This property was ideal there was an abundance of cutlery and crockery the whole place was fantastic. Plenty of space for 6 of us and a dog. Beds very comfortable nothing to not like Ideal location for exploring the lakes easy walking distance to Bowness where there is plenty to do and lots of lovely places to eat and drink Really can not fault this spot

Lovely house. Great location ( although more than a 15 min stroll to bowness) . Really needs a thorough clean as the master bedroom and bathroom were dusty and fusty covered in cobwebs and grime. Found socks under the bed also - defo not ours ! Great garden . Has all equipment you would need so real shame the general maintenance is not up to scratch. Also I think someone came one day to put bins out and threw away bottles I was keeping outside for dog water which wasn’t helpful !

Beautiful Arts & Crafts House

Afternoon tea lovely welcome. Fridge-freezer too small for 8. Lovely garden & outdoor seating. Beautiful views. Good parking. Very peaceful. Fantastic furnishings in all rooms. Took several days to sort out toilet seat which was already broken on arrival. Wasps nest under bedroom window not sorted out despite mentioned on 2nd day. We were there for 2 weeks. We would have liked clean towels and bed linen after the first week. We would be happy to stay again in this beautiful home.

Perfect Location and Amazing Space

Fantastic location which is close enough to facilities yet far enough away to really get away from it all, there is nothing not to like, the house is well equipped with everything you need and the outside space is amazing. Would not hesitate to stay again- everyone left happy and refreshed after a tough 12 months - just what we all needed.

Great location - however

Great location. Lots of walking from the property. Considering there was a 4 month lockdown, we did think this place would have received the thorough clean it deserves. First job was to give the kitchen a good once over, clean the dishes and utensils we would be using for the week, and ignore the remaining items. Considering we were there for 7 days, the owner, and I believe the person who probably lives there in-between rentals, turned up 3 times. A bit odd. Watering can be done thoroughly once/week. Other than that, we had a fab week.

An excellent retreat from the pandemic.

Excellent. Everything was absolutely as described and shown on the comprehensive range of photographs. We had the wettest week of the autumn, but in summer with the patio furniture in position it will be even better!

Lovely Property with a great view

The property is in a great location with amazing views of Lake Windermere in the distance. The only one thing we felt about the property is that it had too much furniture and breakables in it. Would love to visit again in the summer to take advantage of the outside space.

On arrival the house was very clean, great area, great facilities and an easy check in/check out using a lock box. We were celebrating my mums birthday and there was a fresh cake and tea set all laid out for us on arrival which was such a lovely touch! Thank you

I wanted a holiday with my family. My parents are elderly & over the last year have both suffered health problems which makes it difficult to go on holiday on their own. I wanted to book a cottage to make it feel like home from home & this is exactly what I got but on a much grander scale. The property was beautiful, fully equipped with everything u could possibly need, the location was picture perfect looking out we could see lake Windermere. The outdoor seating areas were perfect for us all to sit out on an afternoon once we got back from sightseeing for the day. Checking in & out was very easy. This property was more than I could have wished for, my parents both felt safe & very very relaxed, we all had an amazing holiday which was made that more special because of the accommodation, I would highly recommend this as somewhere to stay if you are staying in the Lake District

Windermere break

This property was one of the best rentals we've ever had. The house itself is beautiful, with distant elevated views of Lake Windermere, in a peaceful quiet position away from the roads. Everything was perfectly clean and never have we had such a selection of kitchen utensils! The only drawback is because of the house's age, all the toilets are upstairs, but its a small sacrifice to pay for such a lovely spot!
