Artemisia: New Zero-Energy View Home—Walk To Town

This brand-new light-filled home is the perfect escape. Artemisia is within walking distance of the cafes, restaurants, and shopping of Winthrop but feels miles away. After an active day of skiing, hiking, fly fishing, or just relaxing, you can kick back and take in the expansive views of Mount Gardner. Have dinner at one of the many nearby restaurants or stay in and take advantage of the well-stocked kitchen with induction range. It's a peaceful, laid-back gathering place.

Artemisia is the first zero-energy, solar-powered vacation rental home in the region. Over the course of the year, it produces enough clean electricity from the sun to meet all of its energy needs. It features polished concrete floors, ultra-efficient heat pump heat, hot water, and clothes drying, and panoramic vistas of the Methow Valley and snowcapped Mount Gardner through triple-pane windows. Non-toxic and earth-friendly finishes, such as zero-VOC paint, Paperstone countertops, natural limestone tile, all-natural latex mattresses, and cork flooring ensure excellent indoor air quality. A state-of-the-art air-handling system brings a gentle flow of fresh air to every room of this super-insulated home.

Great stay in Winthrop

Really enjoyed the stay in this great house in a very quiet place. 2 big bedrooms + 1 bed in a mezzanine offered plenty of space for our 4 person family. Great location near Winthrop which allowed us to enjoy the Methow Valley.

The house was exactly as described! It was beautiful and we had a great stay. The owner is super communicative and responded promptly to messages. My husband had left his laptop charger at our home (3 1/2 hours away). The owner was readily responsive to our pleas for help. The neighbors are super friendly and ended up having a charger we could borrow. Great people! Would definitely stay here again! Also, our kids loved it!

Great house and location

Really nice house just up the hill from downtown Winthrop. Loved that it was dog friendly and we were able to charge our EV. The kitchen was stocked really well with spices, olive oil, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Very clean and comfortable and spacious for 4. We had some issues with the heating system but we were able to troubleshoot with the owner’s help. We never got the internet to work, which was not a big deal since we had a good 3G connection with our phones, but we weren't able to use the really cool projector set-up, so hopefully those issue get resolved. Overall we loved the property and the views and appreciated the great communication with the owner.

Great views, modern home

Owner was quick to respond and check in and out easy. Great kitchen, nice projector, excellent views of the snowy valley, lots of space and bedrooms, boot warmer. Kitchen had everything needed to cook meals.

This worked out perfectly for our team! It was a very short distance to the town and rink. Nice large open common space - kitchen, dining, living and outdoor patio. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, untensils, and cookware. A few games and very hard puzzles :). The book of property instructions and area information was much appreciated. Check-out was a breeze. Thank you for an excellent experience!

Great property, able to walk into town which was nice! Enjoyed the beautiful view from outside the patio. Plenty of space inside for the 2 of us. Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc as we did cook breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

Perfect Winter Vacation

August stay at Artemisia

The house was beautiful with lots of light and views of the mountains. The kitchen was well appointed so we were able to save some money eating in. The house was walking distance to the shops and restaurants in Winthrop. We also were near some great hikes that we enjoyed, including Maple Pass, Blue Lake, and Cutthroat Pass. The primary bedroom and the downstairs bedroom were fine. The only real drawback was the loft room was not very private and not well airconditioned.

We were coming to Winthrop to have a birthday party for my 90 year old mom. This place was excellent close to town and accepted dogs. After a day of celebration is was great to come back and relax with our kids and grandkids.

Excellent stay in new home near town

We loved the new very comfortable eco- friendly home with lots of space and beautiful views. The house is on a ridge above highway 20 just a few minutes outside of Winthrop. It’s quiet and scenic. The kitchen is well equipped and bedrooms are comfortable. We had a very nice stay!
