Windang Beach Retreat

This family orientated 3 bedroom home invites the family to come and spend some quality time together and make some memories in the beachy suburb of Windang. With a large fully equipped kitchen and 2 living rooms -TV in both, it offers that spacious feeling to relax and unwind in. Outdoor shower to wash off any sand from the beach that is walking distance. Aircon in front lounge only. No aircon in bedrooms.

Outdoor entertainment area including a BBQ to cook a feast and an inground pool for the summertime water fun. Only a short stroll to Windang Beach, with shops close by on the main road. Only a 10-minute drive to the main Shellharbour shopping centre and 10-minute drive to the famous Shellharbour Village with numerous cafe's to choose from, boutique shops, restaurants and the popular Ocean Beach Hotel Pub to wine and dine across from the harbour.

Only a 5 minute drive to Port Kembla Golf Course where you can enjoy a game with some mates, or play Putt Putt with the kids at the Illawarra Golf Complex next to the golf course.

Windang is roughly 15-20 minutes south of Wollongong, where there's plenty of things to check off the to-do list. Jamberoo Recreation Park is 20 minutes away, perfect to take the family and spend the day in a water park.

There is no garage accessible to guests, however plenty of parking in the driveway within fenced yard or on the street.

Lovely weekend

The grandchildren really enjoyed the pool and being so close to the beach. Weather not good for swimming with a heavy swell running. Only difficulty was with the sofa bed being utterly uncomfortable. My daughter and her husband had to lay cushions on the floor with the sofa mattress on top so they got some sleep. The ceiling fan in the back sitting room didn’t work, and two windows were glued shut. I thought that was unfair, considering the amount paid to stay in the house. Also, no milk for a cup of coffee when we arrived. Otherwise, the property was very comfortable and loved the secure yard.

Enjoyable and relaxing getaway

House is clean and comfortable, with a great backyard and pool for kids and family. Great location, only minutes walk away from the beach, lake, and local stores! We really enjoyed our stay and will be looking to come back in the near future.

Great location

Nice beach shack with 3 proper bedrooms. Wouldn’t recommend the pull out couch in the second lounge for more than one night as the mattress is no good. But otherwise the place is just as advertised and the manager Deb is very responsive, helpful and accommodated all our requests. Bring toilet paper if you plan to stay more than 2 days and make sure to pack beach towels. Overall we had a wonderful time at the property and we would happily return for another beach break.

Great stay and great location with room for improvement

Thank you Debbie for your quick communication and information provided. We had a great time, the kids were in the pool everyday. Overall the place was neat and tidy with the the bathroom being the most modern part of the house. The kitchen, dining and rear lounge do need a bit more lights as it was quite dim at night. And for a group of 8, there weren't enough chairs to have dinner at the same time. The rear lounge was a big enough place to hang around but during the couple of hot days, it was too warm to sit and enjoy without air conditioning. And despite having a bigger TV in the rear, there wasn't internet access for the TV to stream any movies too (Dvds were provided though). Maybe something the owner can consider in the future. But overall a great stay. Thank you

Really good location, rooms good size. Couple of improvements is to notify tenants have lawns and pool will be services, extra key, back guttering leaking and maybe slightly better lighting in kitchen.

Unwinding in Windang

The Smithery is a comfortable, accessible, clean and well-appointed property in an unprepossessing neighbourhood, with plenty of room to move. Despite the less-than-wonderful weather, we made good use of the superb. in-ground pool on most days, and enjoyed the convenience of the single story layout (my wife has mobility issues). The living areas are very spacious, and although we found the lighting a bit dim for our taste, we soon adapted to the atmosphere thus created. The absence of a clothes dryer in the otherwise well-equipped laundry could have been a challenge, but we managed to utilise the clothes line on the one fine (as in not rainy) day during the week when washing became an imperative. Overall, everything about our stay was enjoyable and relaxing. We would definitely return.
