Affordable!

This had a homey feeling. It was very clean. Had a funny smell when we first went in, but it left soon after. Could have been from the cleaning products. Was great for a 1 night stay.

Do not recommend

Last minute week-long trip to Woodstock, wasn't much available in this price range so thought "how bad could it be?" 2 star, so didn't expect much, and still, the only thing going for this place is the location. Arrived 10pm. Front desk area unstaffed, and about 35C. Eventually checked in after a 10 min wait, though the clerk seemed unfamiliar with her job. The room (29) so icky i didn't want to step on the floor without shoes; carpet ancient and nasty. Couch covered by a bedsheet. Bed really hard and uncomfortable. Supposedly the motel had been "renovated", and sure, fresh coat of inexpertly applied paint, a new a/c unit but not much else. Bathroom wallpaper held on with packing tape and/or painting tape, and they'd caulked over the bathtub mould. Very dark and dingy room. Ants. Switched rooms the next day, so a bit larger, a bit newer, carpet in better shape, and STILL not a comfortable room. No room darkening curtains, a musty smell from the carpet and furniture, and another uncomfortable bed. At least we had newer, non threadbare towels. After the 3rd night I'd finally had enough and we moved to the $$ Best Western in order to relax. We'd been gone almost all day, returned at 5p, and room still hadn't been cleaned (rooms were still being cleaned), yet it seemed the rooms available for rental that night done. Bizarre. Did not eat in the restaurant so no idea. In its heyday, Stiles quite upscale, no longer the case, i give it 1 star at best. Pictures from the 1st room.

There was a hole in the bathroom door, the door handle to the bathroom was not on properly, the sink looked like it needed a good cleaning but might have been no porcelain left on the sink. The bedding seemed clean.

The room was exceptionally clean but the AC did not blow cold air (& looked like it stopped a decade ago). Hot water came out the bath faucet the cold out the shower head. Because of that we skipped our planned breakfast in the on-site restaurant.

A good, basic option in the downtown area of this small city. It’s nothing special, but it’s reasonably priced. Restaurant on site. Like all such places, its primary attraction is being able to drive up and park right outside your door, which makes a quick morning exit easy to do.

Remote

Got there late. Room was dark: very few lights (bathroom light was not working). NO remote for TV. Asked front desk: who said they would be over in 10 minutes: after 30 Min, had to back to ask AGAIN; got a remote from another room, DID NOT work! Cable box did NOT work! Asked about talking to the owner, was told the owner lives in Ontario, has little to do with hotel. The "Manager" was the person who checked for another remote. Manager said NO refunds. No Recycling bins? Room was clean.

Very very pleasantly surprised, it is a 2 star no doubt but the rooms are very clean with a great mattress for sleep, clean carpet and with new tv and excellent internet connection. The best part is the food in restaurant, with a great selection of Indian and canadian. For supper I tried the Samosa with Saag palak Panner and it was absolutely delicious with the spice level perfect for my canadian taste buds and the Chai tea was perfection. My only complaint was been in room 29 the location is close to dumpster, a divide wall or something similar to hide the dumpster would certainly improve overall impression of motel. Great value for the money

The rooms had a distinct odor, it may have been the cleaning solution. The carpet was thread bare, the wallpaper and paint were peeling, the sink had rust stains, the towels were very thin and they had the thinnest pillows i have ever seen.
