Seventh Wave is the best wave!

It is The Seventh Wave now, but once upon a time it was a simple yellow cedar box named Elaine's Rocky Coast.
Now with it's signature entrance and deck, it is transforming into what is one of the most
architecturally recognizable homes in Yachats!

This house is nestled on the edge Yachats' cedar forest overlooking the rocky coast and a rare tide pool plateau;
a calm bay view backed with tall tree covered mountains to the south;
a ceaselessly changing sea and sky to match the mood that hopefully brought you here.
Great for a family vacation; art-work; or to sit and write that novel you have been carrying around inside you.

Enjoy the crash of waves during stormy days while you watch whales
in the stillness of a glass windscreen protected second story deck.
At night, stretch out on the leather sofas and be lulled to sleep next to the crashing ocean.

DSL Broadband and a complete cable TV package with 5:1 surround sound in the downstairs media room
will keep the kids busy, or the vacationer who must check in with work content!

The ocean view is unobstructed and there is only forest behind you.
It is a five minute walk to an ocean of starfish and anemones,
and a two block walk to Yachats shops, restaurants and another bottle of wine.

This house longs for a dozen families who think of it as a second home, treat it that way,

Large fenced backyard for dogs. Easy access to Trail 804. Amazing sea views, Walking distance to Yachats cafes, gift shops. Easy parking next to house.Suggest upgrade on bed linens. Towels were top quality. Keurig coffee maker, but no pods.Drip coffee pot but no filters or starter kit coffee grounds. Five forks. Rusty spatula on outside grill. Deck furniture need’s replacing.Did not use downstairs much as the views were upstairs.There was mention of bringing firewood but unclear as to where to use it. No fire pit, fireplace or stove. As native Oregonians we are used to rustic, but would encourage furniture upgrades.

Beautiful location

The location is excellent with trails right behind the house to all the cool shops in town. The view of the ocean is amazing and there are tide pools right there. Dog friendly was a major plus! The house is a little funky but very comfortable. Look forward to staying there again!

Love the location and the house

We've stayed here in the past and love it, however, it had been a while and it definitely needs some TLC, dead bolt completely rusted, dishwasher inside was not so great, and no instructions about the heat, very different temperatures in different rooms. Hope some things get repaired as we would love to come back. Thank you,

Mostly clean. Mold in upstairs bdrm shower. Two lights upstairs broken. Both tv’s were not connected and no directions on how to use the Roku tv. Sink in downstairs bathroom drained very slowly-we fixed it. No hair dryers. However location and views were amazing. Screens and blinds are needed upstairs. Blinding during sunset Also

Your house was perfect for us- grandparents, daughter and 2 grandkids. Loved the view and quirky vibe. A few maintenance items: Refrigerator freezer not cold, fan and coil may need cleaning. Main electric wires to house have broken support cable- dangerous and could cause a fire. Replacing weathered front door would make a better first impression. Just FYI.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Ocean views outstanding. Sunsets amazing. The home is older with a need for some updates and maintenance. However, these pale when you consider the view and proximity to downtown. Walking distance.

Comforts of Home on the Ocean

This place was a great getaway for some much needed coastal time. Peaceful neighborhood and you can watch the waves crash across the ocean while enjoying a glass of wine on the coach. You can hear the waves all ugh and it’s amazing. The place is. I let decorated and maintained especially for the cost. I love the feel of the place full of warmth and comfort while you gaze out to enjoy nature at its best.

Before you stay, find out about repairs.

The pictures of this property on the VRBO website must have been taken some time ago. Pictures look bright and inviting. Reality: the property shows physical deterioration both inside and out, evidence of deferred maintenance (windows with broken seals, small trees growing from the gutters, peeling, worn paint/stain), obsolescence, and neglect. A dining room chair with the mock-leather finish worn almost completely away, giving the appearance of having mange- it should have been hauled to the dump years ago. Uncomfortable old beds, filthy pillows, with cheap, mismatched bedding. We left a day earlier than planned. The first floor smells musty; the smell hits you when you walk in. The dehumidifier fills every 12-18 hours. We didn't use the rooms downstairs- no television viewing (no big deal- we didn’t come to the coast to watch tv), unable to use the primary bedroom. It is not safe. Air quality should be tested and home inspected for mold and/or rot. Of 8 under-cabinet lights in the kitchen, 6 lights, over the sink area, do not work. The faucet in the kitchen leaks and is loose. The soap dispenser compartment door in the dishwasher is missing. Light is burned out at the over-the-range microwave. Very hard to cook in the dark. The deadbolt on the door leading to the deck is completely rusted away, reduced to skeletal remains. Rust stains down weather-worn door. Strap on deck chair is broken. In the north bedroom, 2nd floor: three-light fixture- bottom light is broken in socket; middle light did not work
I looked and saw the tip of the bulb, but when I reached in to attempt to see of the bulb was loose, I found the bulb broken below the tip, and I touched the filaments, resulting in shock and a spark of electricity. The lamp is unusable and dangerous. Though they only stayed with us for one night, I’m glad my grandchildren did not use that room. North bedroom: the three pillows in that room were unusable. The bed is awful. We went to Florence and bought new pillows. North bedroom: The one venetian blind is both extremely filthy and broken. North and south bedrooms: there are windows without shades for privacy, safety, or warmth. South bedroom: No nightstands. On one side a table. I moved a nightstand and a lamp to provide for the other side of the bed. The smell of the place. The worst vacation experience we have ever had. The property manager did apologize and was wiling to make adjustments to our rent, but it was a week ruined. Don't stay here.

Superb location shadowed by poor cleaning

Such a special location overshadowed by poor cleaning. We arrived after office hours for a family gathering. We spent our first few hours cleaning the kitchens so that we could put away our groceries. The counters, cabinets and refrigerator were soiled with oils and residue. The stove and oven were dirty with a piece of aluminum foil placed over the oven floor to accommodate the grime. I called the property manager line and sent an email with the unsatisfactory conditions. The next business day the property manager responded and delivered new pillows, additional glassware and were accommodating to the issues of cleanliness. The property manager acknowledged our concerns that the property was in need of deep cleaning. We had moved items from the armoires in bedrooms where volumes of old comforters were stored to the point of a musty scent in the bedrooms. After we sprayed Lysol the musty smell was reduced. Throughout our stay we dealt with the dishwasher which was loose in the cabinet and falling out every time we tried to load or unload the dishwasher The management company was quickly responsive to our concerns. We had a wonderful time in the home situated proximal to the coast.

Sunset ocean home

We loved the location! Having a fenced yard across from the ocean? Wow just amazing. The furnishings are older and some switches don’t seem to work (never could figure out how to turn the lights on under the kitchen counters on the east side, separate switch for the two on the south side), but it is cozy and has all the necessary items one would need. We will definitely be back but we may bring our own pillows and towels just because we like it fluffy not old and tattered. Washer and dryer were very good and quick. Bathroom downstairs has the tub/shower combo large enough for two but the shower head, although huge and looks amazing, is NOT so we only showered upstairs but it would be fine for kids, dogs or baths.

Amazing location; super cozy

We loved our visit! The view and deck are incredible and the fireplace in the living room keeps you warm and cozy all evening. It’s in the perfect spot to explore Yachats and the beach. Definitely would come back!

Excellent location in scenic Yachats

There were some hiccups upon arrival since the clean-up crew was still working for over an hour after the check-in time. The location of the house couldn't be better, right across the street from the beach. The views were spectacular. The house itself was comfortable but could use a fair amount of maintenance. (fix the dishwasher door, leaky faucets, replace light bulbs, etc). We never could figure out if the upstairs TV had cable. Despite any small issues, we had a great time and would return.

Great getaway

I would give this property a ten if it didn't have a fireplace hanging in the middle of everything. While it is unique, it hinders the flow of traffic and socializing of a wonderful great room.

Highly recommended!

We enjoyed everything about our stay here! Yachats is a very friendly town for exploring. We highly recommend walking the Amanda Trail and having breakfast at the Green Salmon Cafe. This rental house held 5 people and a dog with ease, and could have accommodated several more. There were plenty of blankets, a beautifully sunny window seat, and a fenced backyard big enough for a great game of fetch. The tv’s were modern, and the table large enough for a great game of cards. I highly recommend this house!

Overall it is a great location, has all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I would say the flooring was a bit sketchy in some areas. The laundry room and downstairs bedroom seemed like the floor was going to fall in. Other than that, loved the open concept upstairs and the view!
