A Relaxing Place To Have Fun In The Sun!
Our lovely 8-acre vineyard and charming 2000 square feet, 2-bedroom guest cottage, are a treasure! Newly remodeled, the 'Grand Suite' will spoil you and your honey rotten! Get ready to relax in the fanciest 'retro' bathroom in town! Enjoy the convenience of having the whole-house to yourself, including a fully stocked kitchen. But who wants to cook when you can.......barbecue outside on the gas grill! We even provide you with the fish---- we stock our pond with trout! Bring your fish'n rod, to catch a few. Feast on them at dinner time! Clean up quick so you can romance your honey on the porch... or lay-out on the private deck! Walk the vineyard to witness breath-taking views of Mt. Adams, as the sunsets. Tour Yakima's Premiere Wine Country. Sunland's Cottage is ideal for couples visiting Yakima on a weekend-getaway or a vacation! Conveniently located all within 3-15 minutes from most of Yakima's hotspots! (P.S. if you are allergic to animals, this is NOT your place! Also, since the cottage is situated on a working farm, expect to see crew polishing, priming and pruning the grapes during your stay, all in service to the fall grape harvest!)
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property in Yakima! From the moment we arrived where we met Jenny and Julia, we felt at home. They welcomed us with a bottle of wine from their vineyard and a dozen farm fresh eggs, introduced us to their pet sheep, took us to the top of the hill for a view of Mt Adams, and walked us through the lovely home that was like walking into the past. The house had all of the modern amenities and was clean and comfortable, but it reminded us all of going to grandmaâs house. Before leaving, we even picked some raspberries to eat on the next part of our journey. We canât imagine staying anywhere else in Yakima! Highly recommend!
Our family stayed in this beautiful cottage for two nights while in town for my daughterâs track meet. Friendly owner and daughter. Exceptionally clean rooms. The sheep, pond, the frogs croaking at night all made our stay a wonderful experience. Thank you for having us! We hope to come back.
Tried to contact owner several times with no response. Property is very nice. Far too many rules though. We enjoyed our stay but it could have been better.
The place was exactly as described, once I figured out that Jenny is the ownerâs mom, the communication went smoothly, which was probably my misunderstanding. The cottage is next to a working farm with sheep, chickens and peacocks (unfortunately we didnât see any). It was fun to wake up and watch the sheep graze, while drinking our coffee. Jenny told us later that the pond is stock with fish, but i didn't have my fishing pole. So she came back later and brought a new pole and all the tackle to use, i caught 3 fish for our dinner. That was great, thanks Jenny!!,
The only minuses were the road noise, and lots of specific instructions. But the place was very clean, and we didnât mind leaving it as we found it.
This sweet little cottage was just right for our purpose of touring a few Yakima Vineyards. Secluded behind secure gates and thick trees the home feels very private. The backyard has lots of wildlife. It was quite bucolic.
Rude host and unreasonable expectations for guests
We had difficulty with check in despite prior communication with owner. We followed instructions and it took over an hour and a half to access property, even though we arrived over 3 hours AFTER check in time. The owner even told us to go find something to do "to better use our time" while she located her mother to let us in. We were chastised by both owner and then her mother when she finally arrived to let us onto the property. This is not a property you can come and go at your own convenience.
They then tried to tell us we couldn't have a four week old infant at the house because the four week infant might "make a mess" or "get into the pond".
They have a HUGE clean up list...you will basically be cleaning the entire house before you leave. It took four of us an hour to clean to their expectations. I have stayed in dozens of rental homes and I have NEVER seen such expectations for guests. To top it off we found hair in both showers upon arrival, which we had to clean out to take showers. The furniture was old, broken down, and outdated with the exception of the master's bedroom.
I have never been so rudely treated by property owners. It was one hassle after the other which made the weekend stressful instead of relaxing. Unless you are willing to be at the mercy of the owner and her mother spare yourself the additional stress and rudeness and find another VRBO to stay at!
Absolutely beautiful rental home, lovely owner and country. Loved the surrounds.
Stay at this lovely place and glad we had a chance to meet Jenny.

Unwelcoming
We arrived 1hour early and were berated for it by Jenny. We would of been happy to come back in 1hour, but instead Jenny was very passive aggressive about the situation. She showed us around and described all the rules and conditions. She also emphasised on several occasions that we needed to clean the cottage before we left. The checklist on departure was like no other Iâve seen. On leaving, we followed the checklist and did do all that was asked. Unfortunately we received a nasty email on our departure from Jenny accusing us of stealing 4 towels and stating we left the master bedroom and bathroom a mess, (which we did not) due to the fact we didnât wash the shower and counter tops. Unreal. Extremely disappointed. Aside from our unfortunate encounter with the host, the cottage has a bizarre layout and really only suitable for a couple. Master bedroom is nice, but has no curtains, so gets really bright early morning. Also the deck outside was full of animal droppins and very dirty. Very underwhelmed and disappointed. Definitely would not go back.
Lovely house the feels secluded but is close to town.
The house is lovely. It is an old house that Jenny has added onto making the kitchen, dining room/sun room very bright and welcoming. The master bedroom and bath are VERY NICE - open, bright and roomy. It was nice to sit on the bedroom deck and watch the birds, goats and peacocks. At night there was a symphony of frogs from the pond. The house is separated from the road by a row of trees that adds greatly to the isolated feeling.
