Cottage in Pocklington Near York With Log Burner, Wi Fi And Off Street Parking
Carpenter's Cottage is conveniently located in the heart of historic Pocklington; a very short stroll from shops, restaurants, arts centre (cinema and theatre), sports centre and Burnby Hall gardens, famous for its waterlilies. It is the perfect base for visiting the nearby city of York (13 miles) by bus or car, or for walking and cycling in the Yorkshire Wolds. Underfloor heating and a wood burning stove make the cottage cosy and comfortable all year round. Hand-crafted wooden fittings and a stained glass window in the en suite double bedroom all add to its charm. There is a utility room with washer/dryer - handy for walking and cycling holidays in all weathers. The cottage has its own private courtyard, secure cycle store and off-street parking, and guests are very welcome to share our large garden and its home-grown produce.
What a fantastic stay at The Carpenters cottage. The hosts Helen and Patrick were so warm and welcoming and Patrick also has an amazing workshop you can have a look at.
We came to stay for my birthday to watch a band at the arts centre, and had such a wonderful time. Everybody was so kind and generous. The cottage was very comfortable, super clean and warm. The log burner is brilliant. Easy walk into the centre of town and lots of places to eat and drink.
Definitely will stay again of we're next up this way :)
Well situated for the centre of pocklington and the nice bars and cafes. Also easy access by foot to the wolds.
Only slight issue would be the footpath to the side as can sound like someone next door until you realise it.
Hosts very welcoming and offered good advice. Also nice to see the workshop
Has a lovely few days over Christmas in Carpenter's cottage, it's a beautiful cosy little cottage in a prime place for access to the centre of Pocklington, very well equipped with everything you would need including a lovely log burner which is very welcoming when it's cold outside.
Helen and Patrick were lovely and friendly and we knew they were on hand if we needed anything. I'm sure we'll be visiting again in the not too distant future.
This property was perfect. Set in the middle of Pocklington. It is a thriving market town. It was immaculate. Plenty to see and do in the area. The owners were very friendly . Would like to return and continue exploring the area.
Our 27 day stay was too short! We are full-time travelers and we know the value of a place that has everything you need: delightful hosts, good wifi, comfortable seating, good transportation hub and a kitchen to do simple meals. The cottage is cozy but not cramped. Patrick and Helen looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed and greeted us with a very warm welcome. We also got to enjoy their lush garden.
The village itself provided restaurants, bakeries, butcher, etc. (We especially enjoyed Somali Indian.) Our trip to the Yorkshire Dales is one of the highlights of our 7 1/2 journey!
York itself was history and fun. Eat at Betty's Tea Restaurant! Patrick is very knowledgeable about local and York history.
The bottom line---you will be very pleased with your decision to stay at Carpenter's Cottage
This cottage was the best part of our UK trip! Patrick & Helen gave us a warm welcome and were very helpful. The cottage was equipped with everything and was clean and cozy. Itâs location was perfect right in the heart of Pocklington and the travel to York was about a 40 minute direct bus ride with the bus stop being less than a 10 minute walk. Highly recommend if you are considering this property!
Great little cottage, really friendly helpful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble and Pocklington is a lovely market town with lots to do and great bus service to York
