For a budget place to stay, it was adequate. Really good location for a place to stay that's easily walkable to the heart of York. I could feel the springs in the bed, but I slept fine. I recommend anyone who's a light sleeper to request a room at the back - my room was at the front and was very noisy due to traffic. Walls are thin too and I could hear the guests next door's conversations. If the owners read this, I hope you consider adding double glazed windows and nocer mattresses. Also, the shower door (in shared bathroom) didn’t close properly and the bathroom floor got soaked - it didn't affect my stay, but I never saw any staff to be able to report it.

Great location and got more for my money than expected. Very clean and thoughtful. The bottles of water provided with fridge was much appreciated. Very quiet. Only thing that would make it better is the makeup light in the bathroom didn't work and the heating automatically came on in the morning making the room a bit warm. Friendly and polite staff.

Everything was really worth value for your money. However we experienced rudeness during our stay when one of the renters on the other room was knocking our wall and telling us to keep quiet when were not making any noise but because my husband snored which I cant avoid they kept on knocking our wall. He doesn't really snore, but just that particular night he snored because we were literally tired and exhausted from the travel. But can you avoid that? Can they literally shut us up when someone is snoring which is out of our control. They should have rented another hotel if they don’t wanna hear any sound at all. Something sound proof. Of course it is a budget hotel so what do you expect?

I didn't book direct as their website and reviews worried me, but it was one of few available and affordable rooms when I needed them I was concerned that I was asked to contact them about checking in, but 3 emails and a text elicited no reply. I did find someone in, but reception was a tip, as was outside. The guy on the 'desk' was OK but didn't offer to help with bags. I noted that the venue claimed 'ensuite rooms' outside, but several aren't, the bathrooms are shared up stairs. One had a tiny door and sh,,,, marks and a dirty used towel for a day. No-one took in the used towels in 72 hours I was initially relieved that the hotel seemed quite nice, but then, I read the terms in a booklet. These are as bullying as they are unlawful -they'd said no alcohol, oddly, but now they threaten eviction, no refund, and extra charges -similarly, a ban on takewaays with charges... ...lost keys, bearing in mind the yale locks and how easily one might forget your key card using the bathroom They claimed they'd take from our bank account Hotels. be aware this is unlawful as it's a one-sided nonnegotiated contract, and the terms appear after a contract is made, and it avoids due process and having to provide proof. Hotels then could invent or mischarge or even take revenge on negative reviews. I take being evicted very seriously, and it's unnecessary Diamond 'Inn' is not an inn, it provides no food, drink or anywhere to sit other than the bedrooms I felt stressed; stay spoiled

We booked a standard room with a shared bathroom for a very good price. It was all we needed. Room was freshly decorated, very clean, with tea , coffee biscuits. Bathroom was just for us. Great location.

Smooth check in process. Room also comes with complimentary water bottles and toiletries. Location was also very convenient - we didn't use transport during our stay as all the touristy location and shops can be accessed by walking. The place also allowed us to leave our bags until 4pm. Only downside is how thin the bedroom walls are ( we can hear everything from next door - from the telly to using the shower lol) otherwise very convenient and would Recommended this place to anyone who will visit York and would like to prioritise convenience and comfort. 👍

Loved the central location, easy walking distance for everything, properly is currently undergoing some renovations, our room was basic, but clean and comfortable. Check in procedure was difficult for an overseas visitor as the only method was via calling a uk mobile number which we were unable to do with our Australian phones, a simple addition of a doorbell would be great. Another simple addition which would make a big difference would be a mirror in the room close to a power point, so that you can see to dry and style your hair, I ended up sitting in the doorway so I could use the hallway mirror. Otherwise I was very happy with our stay.

My two sons and I were looking for a place to sleep only but affordable, clean, close to the attractions in York and we found it here. The room is small but clean and with comfortable beds. It's situated in a nice areas steps to many good places to eat. I'll stay again.

Everything was great mostly - the sink was a bit funny at times, and there was very loud construction in the next room over that we weren’t warned about before, but overall a great experience
