My wife and I booked this Hotel because Travelocity has a rating of 8.1, However this rating has to be false or fabricated by the Hotel. First the hotel is in a bad are, directly next to a correction facility/jail. Secondly, people are openly selling and using drugs in front of the Hotel. The Staff seems to allow questionable people (drug users) to just sit in the lobby on the couch and also has a sign to sell them food. We booked a non-smoking room, but smelled smoke and marijuana the entire evening. Third, even though they advertise that they have a breakfast, don’t even think about getting it, because there isn’t a breakfast. Lastly, the room was extremely noisy (banging all night) and I didn’t feel as though we were even safe at this hotel, I could barely sleep. I would never stay here again and actually booked at the Hampton less than a mile away; it was a night and day difference between the two Hotels. I would not recommend the Baymont to anyone visiting the Albany, NY (Latham, NY) area.

It's an old place that's not run well, the room was updated and clean but the lobby area/hallways reminded my of something from a bad movie. There's no real breakfast either- that's purely false advertising. You walk towards the area where a breakfast bar should be and there's a barren room with an urn of weak coffee- you (seriously) grab a "breakfast bag" from the desk- it's got a bunch of sugary/carb laden muffins/granola bars and an apple and some sort of juice along with a tiny bottle of water....0 protein options! You also have to get a styro cup for your "coffee" from the same desk.

The neighbors upstairs were very noisy all night. At 4 am, water was pouring from the bathroom ceiling, bathroom flooded. Unable to use.We grabbed our things and left, informing the clerk of the situation. It was a terrible stay and as of yet, no offer to refund or discount our stay.
