The location was great. Very convenient to UT/downtown/Convention Center/6th Street, and to area restaurants. The Housekeeping staff and front desk staff are amazing. VERY professional, friendly, and responsive.
When I pulled up, the exterior made me question my decision to stay at this location. When I first arrived there were several folks that appeared homeless and junked out hanging out in the parking lot. One individual appeared to be doing his own auto-detailing job in the parking lot. Several of the exterior lights were out, so the walkway was dark at night. The exterior was rundown but it was the lack of care and effort kind of rundown, not
due to the age of the building. Power washing the stairs and walkways alone would make a big difference. My impression is that whoever owns this location doesn't really care about it and/or they're cheap.
My room was completely run down and made me wish I had not forgotten to bring slip on shoes. The carpet looked dirty, warn, and frayed. My room was dark, dingy, and warn. Even the vanity light was missing the light shade. The A/C unit was so loud that I would turn it off at night so that it would not wake me every time it turned on. The toilet would not stop running if you didn't adjust the flap by hand. I had friends who stayed in 2 other rooms, and their rooms were very nice and updated. I wasn't so lucky. To be fair, their toilets also would constantly run because the flaps were worn out and not sealing properly.
