DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!
THIS HOTEL IS A BUILDING SITE. 2 FLOORS UNDER RENOVATION. WORK WILL GO ON THROUGH 2024 with this and other renovations in the basement. LOTS OF SERIOUS NOISE, SOUNDS LIKE PNEUMATIC DRILLING FOR MANY HOURS. OUR WALLS WERE VIBRATING. -- NO WARNING PRIOR TO BOOKING OR ON ARRIVAL ABOUT THE BUILDING WORK. -- HOTELS.COM contacted the hotel and the hotel replied that they would sort it. NOTHING WAS DONE. MANAGER CONSISTANTLY NOT AVAILABLE DESPITE MULTIPLE REQUESTS. To add to the misery only one tiny lift is working and as we were on the 5th floor, a long wait time. This is exacerbated as they open the roof top bar to the general public in the evenings. The second lift will not be back in use for months we were advised. On our first day there was no water to our room. If this hotel were honest about what is going on, it would be empty. This manager has placed his good staff in an impossible position handling the many complaints.

Hotel was absolutely beautiful! Location was perfect. Right across from the cathedral with stunning views. We walked around the entire area to get to almost every restaurant and shop we wanted to go to! Taxi station right next to the entrance was very convenient. Room was surprisingly spacious however, on our first night the air conditioning stopped working and the heat kicked on. We went to call the front desk and our phone wasn’t working. Not the biggest deal, we walked down and they said they would send a technician up to fix it. We went out for the day and when we got back I don’t think it was fixed but we only had one more night so we slept with the balcony door cracked. Wasn’t the worst thing in the world and everything else about this beautiful hotel made that small inconvenience even smaller. We would absolutely return.

Hotel Colon is in an ideal location for seeing the sites of Barcelona. From its location everything is walkable, and the variety of restaurants, shopping and entertainment is endless. I would definitely recommend this hotel with its old world charm.

Can't beat love cation in the Gothic quarter. The cathedral is a huge attraction that draws in crowds of tourists . Food choices abound , shopping , walking The hotel itself is under some renovations .

Our only criticism was not being notified of the construction on the third floor and elevator, which woke us up every morning. It would have been nice to be notified so we were prepared.
