The room was a good size, comfortable bed (an actual queen-sized bed, not two twins pushed together.) Breakfast was a bit underwhelming, scrambled eggs were more like an egg loaf, but not bad. Overall, a decent option in a convenient spot.

The hotel is very well situated close to public transport links and some tourist attractions. The hotel itself was clean and tidy and the room was plenty big enough for our needs. Down side to this hotel is that when travelling with someone with mobility issues who cannot use the stairs with ease, there were only 2 lifts, and 1 was permanently out of order. We were on the 1st floor and when calling the lift to go down to the ground, it would skip the 1st floor entirely and go to every other floor first before coming back to the 1st which meant it was usually then full of other customers. The lift itself was also quite slow and we often spent 5/10 minutes waiting for the lift. On our final day the 2nd lift also broke down… This is just not good enough. Another downside was that the hotel staff were not very friendly for a customer facing environment, we saw a couple different people on the reception desks, none really willing to engage in a conversation or just a simple hello and a smile. The same goes for the housekeeping staff who we saw on the corridors.

Arrived after midday and found the rooms were not ready. However, the receptionist then changed the rooms that we had booked into ones that were next door to each other (two separate bookings) and we left our luggage there before going out for the afternoon. The rooms were large and comfortable, especially for two. We travelled with a family of four, who were sharing. The rooms were made up with new towels daily (3 night stay). The only thing that was not quite so good was that they didn't have any coffee to replenish the drinks tray in the room.

Bedbugs! After a 6 day stay at Novotel Suites Berlin City Potsdamer Platz, my wife and I were covered with bed bug bites. We found bed bugs in our suitcase when we got home. I contacted the hotel who then told me customer relations would contact me the following Monday when they returned to work. 4 Weeks have gone by with no contact and 4 follow up emails from me were ignored. One top of the cost of the stay that resulted in our home being infested we have incurred additional costs insuring our home doesn’t become infested with these disgusting insects. A fun getaway turned into an expensive nightmare.
