I stay at the Red Lion for the Big Sky basketball tournament every March. The staff is wonderful, the hotel is clean and quiet. Location is close to downtown and the price is a fourth of the downtown hotels. The neighborhood has unique restaurants and barbershop. Facility is a little dated and not everything works perfectly. But a lot of charm.

Boises Best hotel to get rest.
Our fav place to stay when in the boise area. Can always rely on the clean.curtious.staff and hotel. Always a restful night sleep when we stay here.

Avoid - Low Prices You Pay For Later
Front desk was staffed by an individual who self disclosed as a "work release convict". I do not recommend. I experienced billing issues and found the manager, Phillip, to be apathetic and unhelpful.

There wasn’t a receptionist anywhere. After waiting for almost 10 minutes and finding someone doing laundry she helped track down a receptionist to check out. We asked for a receipt and the price on the receipt was not what was charged.
