The worst hotel I have ever stayed in!
We arrived late in the evening and had booked a non-smoking room. The young lady at the reception desk was rude and uncommunicative. She did ask us if we wanted a smoking or non-smoking room and we clearly confirmed non-smoking. From the interaction with her colleague we suspected there was some problem and indeed we arrived at our room it smelt of smoke and there was an ashtray and matches on the table. we went downstairs and told reception this and had a long wait until we were eventually moved to another room. It was much smaller, shabby and clearly was not the luxury non-smoking room that we had booked. The view outside the window was of scaffolding netting and builders rubble of the window ledge.! ( see attached photo) it was late so we spent the night in it. Next morning I went downstairs and had to argue with receptionist who insisted the room was the luxury room we had booked.! Eventually we were offered a different room but had to wait an hour and a half to be able to move (again) into it. To be fair , We were given a free evening meal, after I said that we just wanted to check out and leave after the way thar we had been treated
Food was mediocre. Staff hang about waiting for tips.
Stayed in 2 lovely hotels on this trip and paid the same amount as at The Park for excellent service, food etc
The other very negative thing about this hotel is that scammers hang around outside the gate and target you if you are on foot.
