Pros: The hotel is beautiful and in an amazing, easy to access location in downtown Dubuque with lots of history tied to it (including mobsters like Al Capone). It has a nice spa that has lots of beverage options and couples' massage service. We received vouchers for a free dessert with meal at the in-hotel restaurant and a buy one get one free drink at their hotel bar. Unfortunately, we didn't get the opportunity to use either of those services. Bed was comfortable. Cons: There is nearly no sound deadening. You can walk through the halls and easily hear everyone's conversations, let alone the very loud music from the nearby bar until 2 am. Front desk service at check-in was mediocre. The spa had to move my morning appointment to afternoon.
