The lodge was perfect for our quick trip to the Grand Canyon. I appreciated the dog friendly room option. Food from the restaurant was good and has vegan options. I would stay here again.

We visited Grand Canyon and stayed onsite at the Yavapai Lodge. We booked a No Pet Allowed room in the West side which is like a single level cabin/lodge where you can park your car right outside so it's convenient for us since we have 2 young toddlers. Upon check-in, first staff we encounter was meh... not very friendly. As we walked inside the room you can smell the strong febreze spray. We loaded our luggage into the room and our kids were on the bed. We found lots of DOG HAIR under the pillows and blankets. We then looked at our socks and found lots of dog hairs all over our lower extremities. Our younger child has skin allergies and so we can't risk this but went back to the front desk to ask them if they had made a mistake and gave us the wrong room. But no, it was correct and the room is a no-pet room but sometimes they do allow pets. To the management team, does this even make sense to you? After we explained the situation, we were offered another room nearby or at the East side which is exclusively no pets (so that's where we went). Overall the location was convenient and the East side is much more clean. We had a good night of stay and had a wonderful time at the Grand Canyon despite the hiccup.
