This home was spacious and clean, and easily accommodated our family of 8 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was well equipped and the extra dining area was a plus. The water toys were absolutely awesome! The downsides of our stay were mostly due to the aftermath of the flooding. Despite communication prior to our stay that there were "sandbags on the property", we were not at all prepared for the continuous 6 foot wall of sandbags surrounding the home and obstructing the beach access, lake view, and fire pit. We understand that the city is responsible for removing the sandbags, but this home was one of only two houses in the entire area that was still surrounded. There was also an enormous uprooted tree in the front yard, and the electricity on one side of the house was not working, which meant we didn't have any outdoor lights at night. Our family would have greatly appreciated an honest and accurate portrayal of what the situation was like before arriving. I also wonder if there was something further the hosts could have done to mitigate the effects of the sandbags on the overall experience. Despite this, we are considering staying here again next summer and hope that the next guests get much clearer descriptions of the state of the property before arriving.
