Come live the true Zionsville experience in this historic home! Situated on a half acre overlooking the Zionsville golf course, this quaint (and admittedly a tad quirky) home is in the Village of Zionsville with its well-known eateries and boutiques. Fully equipped kitchen, antique touches, and a peaceful location within walking distance to Zionsville's Main Street and multiple parks make this home special.
You are staying in a piece of Zionsville history. The original home, which is now the great room with the dining room and TV area, was built in 1880 in a different location and moved to its present-day location in the same year. Oh, if the walls could talk! You will notice the tin ceiling, hand-hewn beams, and moldings, which we believe to have been added around the turn of the century. You may also notice how the floors roll a bit, a common symptom of homes that are almost 150 years old.
In the 1940s, the kitchen, bathroom, and entry way were added on to the house. The bathroom boasts a beautiful pedestal tub which we were told is of a 1910s vintage. In the 1980s, the primary bedroom suite was added on.
The east wing of the house has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed with fresh white linens and a cozy reading chair for those who prefer to snuggle in with a good book and good lighting before bedtime. Next to the bedroom is a walk-in closet with plenty of storage for your items and a twin bed. In the hall, a small closet holds an iron, ironing board, more hanging space, and laundry accessories. The full bathroom with white crisp towels and a standing shower stall completes the east wing.
The kitchen is fully equipped, from the brand-new knife block set to the antique Courier and Ives tea set to the stand mixer and fresh dish towels. If you're missing something when you make a meal, we would be surprised (but very open to your feedback.)
Enjoy your breakfast at the kitchen table overlooking the fenced-in and private backyard. Or take your meal at the formal dining table with seating for four. Grab a game of Scrabble to test your luck or snuggle into one of our four chairs in the living room with a solid fiction read. The sofa bed pulls out into a queen bed for any additional guests and the TV is equipped with every streaming service imaginable (guests to provide their logins during their stay.) An antique desk and chair set complete the great room.
With Main Street just a quick eight minute walk from the house, you won't find many other opportunities to experience all that Zionsville has to offer this close to the action. We hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we love living in Zionsville. Please let us know what we can do to make your stay one to remember!
Please note that this property has steps up to the main entrance, two steps down to the east wing, one step up to the kitchen, and one step down to the great room. The entire property is available to the tenant with exception to the attic and cellar.
