Kitsch, cool, quirky hotel in a good location
I was asked for my drivers license at check in, which is the first time ever in the UK, where I live. Good kitsch, 70’s style throwback room. Very comfy bed, but the thin pillows let it down. Well stocked kitchenette, could do with a bottle opener though. Overall all the hotel was pleasant with a different reception area, bar and live music and well located to High Street Ken.

What a wonderful boutique hotel! Clean and friendly and charming! Very cool rooms with little kitchen areas. Quiet and eclectic rooms. Very close to Underground and lots of eating options.

Great place but room for improvement
Pros: Staff was very friendly, loved the decor, the common areas and cafe were fantastic, access to free laundry was A++, location was perfect. Mini kitchen area made it easy to store leftovers or make easy snacks. Cons: Our tub didn’t drain (tub would fill completely during a quick shower) and when I brought it up to front desk staff the said “we’ll look into it” but that never happened. Bed wasn’t incredibly comfortable and the pillows were pretty awful.

Hotel looks nice but don’t let that fool you…. Mattress was so lumpy and uneven, sheets were spotted with coffee stains, ac units in room were controlled by the hotel so you could not have a specific temp in your room most days. Poor service all around… front desk, restaurant. And even the manager. Lobby had a terrible perfume smell that made it unbearable to be downstairs so I could not enjoy the bar or coffee counter. MANY locals were in the lobby getting coffee and chatting regularly so not many places to sit for the actual guests. Would not recommend this hotel, or any Locke hotel after my visit. I was so excited for this hotel and did lots of research before hand only to be more disappointed with each day I was there. Maintenance came into my room while I was away and after I had specifically asked them not too because I had personal work information in the room. Location was ok… not many cabs nearby so learn the subway system.

Was spacious and in a good location. However there was no hot water at all in the morning and with checkout time being 11 am there is not much time to get it sorted out. Really let the place down.
