The hotel is very dated but it’s clean and the staff are excellent being able to park is a bonus There are some great places to eat nearby and with a tube station and Hyde park close by it’s perfect for exploring

The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Paddington Station. There are plenty of pubs, and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is OK, it could do with some work, but that it typical of many hotels in this area. I went because of work and would stay again; I don't think I would go for a "romantic getaway". There is only one small lift for the hotel and it is slow. The hotel is not accessible by wheelchair, there are steps leading to the entrance. The room (a superior double) was a good size, no sideways walking to move around the room, so two people can move around the room. The room included tea and coffee. There were ample electrical sockets in the room, including by the bedhead. My bathroom was a good size with a shower over bath. The shower wasn't very powerful and wouldn't be good for people with thick hair. The bath towels were also small. I can't comment on breakfast as I didn't have it. They don't allow hot food in the rooms, but they are happy for you to use the dining area in the hotel.

Mitre Hotel Stay Jan 2024
The rooms in the hotel are on the small side which we understood from reading the comments. The rooms are dated and the carpets could really use a cleaning ( in the room). The beds were comfortable and the shower water pressure was fine. Location was great. The hotel met our needs and we will staying there on our next visit.

Staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful and great for parking. But that is all the positives I can give. It's an independent hotel that needs supporting but needs a lot of work done on it to be of a decent standard. Got given a room, hadn't been made ready, bed wasn't made, and then they tried to charge me extra for a mother room because there wasn't another one in that class available. Breakfast was embarrassingly BAD. Toast, tea and orange juice - fine . English breakfast was a plate of baked bean juice, quarter a tin of beans, slice of bacon and and over cooked egg with tinned mushrooms, oh and half a tomato. All cheap, all really badly cooked. Probably by someone with a cigarette hanging out their mouth scratching their backside. No Cereal offering or continental alternative. really shouldn't bother.

Great place to stay ! Staff is very friendly, the breakfast is delicious and you just can’t beat the location, 3 minute walk from Paddington! You just won’t find anything like it for the price!!
