Hidden Mountain Respite - 5 bedrooms, 2 Bath, Game Room, Hot Tub, Firepit,

Escape away from everyday life to a place where it’s all about the view but you can stay connected if you wish. That’s what Hidden Mountain Respite is all about, high in Western North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains. This mountainside cabin sleeps 11, and offers plenty of space for family and friends. With stunning views from both levels, you will truly feel like you have gotten away from the hustle and bustle of the everyday world, as you enjoy your coffee from the covered front deck that expands to wrap around the side of this majestic home. This cabin is perfect for families or friends seeking a relaxing retreat.

Brand new concrete full driveway to this home! Please note the road to this cabin from the main road is an off-road rustic experience and roads getting up to cabin are graveled, steep and bumpy. Money will not be refunded due to improper vehicles, due to not being able to get to cabin. This means no sport cars, hybrids, front wheel drive mini vans or sedans, motorcycles or trailers. Four-wheel drive vehicles only. In any type of snow or winter event four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, AND chains would be required. This property is not pet friendly. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty.

Once inside, the main floor opens to a large open living room featuring beautiful stone wood burning fireplace with plenty of comfortable seating. Enjoy board games or family dinners together in the main dining room and open kitchen that is fully stocked with your favorite cooking utensils and appliances. Adjacent to the kitchen on the main floor are two of three queen bedrooms, one full bedroom, full bath and adjacent washer and dryer laundry area.

Entering the upper level, you will immediately feel welcomed by the game room complete with pool table, bar area and a twin over full bunk area. Also on the upper floor is the queen master suite with master bath as well as an additional queen room.

Outside, the afternoon sun will catch you napping or reading your favorite book from the large wraparound deck as you smell dinner cooking on the grill. Give yourself time to finish that last chapter and a glass of your favorite beverage, though! Spend the rest of your evening under the stars enjoying the bubbling hot tub or gather around the fire pit with chairs. Flat screen TV, central air and heat, washer, dryer and Spectrum High Speed Internet and Wifi complete the package. This special mountain getaway will give you lots of memories to take home, and you will surely want to visit again!

Just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.

This home is just minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).

A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.

Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).

Comfortable Mountain Home
House is great, full kitchen, plenty of room, the hot tub was very clean and the kids loved it. Fire pit put back was also nice for s'mores. The driveway is very steep, gravel road, would be tough to get up if there's any inclement weather. The check in location is about 15 minutes from the house, ski resort is also 15-20 minutes away. Host was very receptive and easy to work with

Great view of the mountains
Great place to stay. Great house. The driveway is in fairly poor shape. There are ruts and large holes that have been semi filled with loose gravel, so 4 wheel drive and a decent amount of speed are required to get up the driveway even in good weather.

Very nice location. Quiet And tranquil
Everything was all we could imagine. It was a great place to just kick back and relax. My family enjoyed it so much. As noted by previous guests, you should definitely get an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicle. We made it to the bottom of the driveway but could only make it 3/4 of the way to the cabin. We rented a 4wheel drive for the rest of the week.

The Large Cabin had plenty of room! We where blessed to see ELK in our yard during our stay! Games on site. Large deck for viewing the surrounding mountains. Private for seclusion. Helpful Managment. 20 min to Maggie Valley or 30 min to Cherokee. Steep driveway- Moutain Adventure :)

Maggie Valley Weekend
This house was perfect for a group of friends getting away to ski for the weekend. Super clean and easy to get into, though the hill getting up to the property is no joke (booking manager communicates this with you). Clean property, our group definitely enjoyed that there was an outside aspect (hot tub) as well as indoor entertainment with the pool table.

Wonderful getaway
From start to finish I had a wonderful experience. Started with the friendly staff awaiting me to pick up my cabin packet. Then I was off to my stay. Me being an outdoors lover as soon as we it the dirt and started winding up the mountain i was in paradise from the babbling creek rolling off the mountain to locking it into 4wheel drive to make to the top. Once you walk out on to the porch the view is breath taking. Not to mention the cabin was nice also. Highly recommend this cabin . Only advice I would give the owner is to put a internal heater on the beautiful bathroom tub up stairs. Thanks for renting to us.
