I loved the Monterey Hotel! It’s actually two adjoining buildings, and I was fortunate to get a room in the “historic” side, with high ceilings, creaky floors, classic furniture, and weird geometry. It felt very pleasant and spacious. Water pressure left something to be desired and the desk was fairly small, but it was good enough and WiFi was great. The location is great in downtown Monterey, very walkable with plenty of places to eat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was coffee, tea and granola bars, which was more than I expected because the reservation didn’t mention breakfast at all. Overall a great stay; I’ll definitely come here again when I’m in Monterey.

Walking distace to sites and food. Parking ramp near by so valet not needed. Historic hotel so small rooms in that part of hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Quuck grab n go breakfast and coffee.
