Liked: Staff & service
Place was okay, clean enough but not to standard. If you're ok to just sleep there then I would recommend it but you get what you pay for on the cost since it was cheap. I would not recommend it for someone who has a higher standards. But if it's just a place to have a base because you're out and about all day, then it's fine. No on amenities in the room. I would recommend using the onsen in the hotel, it was. They also have a outdoor one in the hotel and it was lovely in the evening.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
Hallway on 6th floor smelly cigarette.
Mattress and Blanket so dirty had blood and hair on there.
Does not have body wash, shampoo, conditioner or hair dryer in room can use only in public onsen.
Staffs can not speak English.
Good breakfast.
Free shuttle bus to Yubakata on Friday and Saturday.
This place was absolutely awesome! I don't understand the complaints of some of the other reviewers who are crying about "it being a far walk" or "old" because it is at most a 10 minute walk to the Yubatake and it is a beautiful hotel with incredible views from the top room floors. Unless you are a very unfit person and walk very slowly, the walk to the Yubatake is short and nice going through the hot spring town of Kusatsu. The entrance to Sainokawara Park is even closer, with the hotel towering over the entire forest that the park is located in. It is a beautiful town to wander around at night with the beautiful changing lights at the Yubatake and in Sainokawara Park, and during the day has many shops filled with kind people selling unique souvenirs. I can speak Japanese, which was helpful as most people in this town did not speak much English. The buffet-style of food was some of the best at a hotel I've had in Japan, and the hot springs were very relaxing with beautiful views of the forest outside. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Kusatsu.
