I recently stayed at The Saint Hotel in New Orleans for my wedding weekend in the French Quarter, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon entering our room on the second day as newlyweds, we were shocked to find that the beds were unmade and the room hadn't been cleaned. There was a note on the bed claiming they couldn't make it because our belongings were on it (a shirt and pair of jeans), which we understood. However, what we couldn't comprehend was why the trash from the night before our wedding hadn't been emptied.
We promptly called the front desk to request housekeeping, but after leaving for a few hours and returning, the room remained untouched. This lack of response was unacceptable, especially on such an important occasion.
To add insult to injury, on our wedding night, we went out for a nice dinner only to return and find our car, which had been valeted earlier that morning, parked in front of the hotel as if it were waiting to be picked up. We spoke with the valet, who directed us to the front desk, where we were informed that a guest had called for the car. This situation left us feeling uneasy, as we couldn't shake the feeling that our car may have been taken for a joyride.
Overall, we were extremely dissatisfied with the service we received at The Saint Hotel. As frequent guests of the Marriott chain, we expected much more. This experience has left us questioning whether we will choose to stay at a Marriott property in the future.
