A bit dissapointed
I was looking forward to this stay as a few of my friends had raved about it. I was a little dissapointed tbh, very dificult to speak to anyone at the hotel as everything is handled through a central booking team & they didn't seem very knowledgeable about the hotel. Any email correcspondence it done through the Hotels.com messaging system which is a 'no reply' so any follow up needed was pretty much impossible. The hotel itself is lovely, lots of very nice period features, especially the bar areas with lovely features including chandeliers etc. except for the dining room which I have to say resembled a works canteen & had very little atmosphere (they didn't even have music playing in the background) & although the food was excellent, it took far too long to arrive (I think they had too few staff for the number of guests eating). The staff were very friendly & apologetic for the delays & couldn't do enough for you. Overall, a nice stay just not as wonderful as I was expecting

Overall a good experience
Beautiful building in a lovely location and copious parking. Room was spacious, immaculately clean and comfortable. The bar was snug and welcoming. The restaurant had quite good food but was very large and lacked ambience (1980s-like decor albeit in very good condition). Service was also a little poor. This wasn't due to a lack of effort on the part of the waiting staff, but a large coach party that left them overstretched. Despite these issues we both said we'd happily stay there again if we find ourselves in that part of Norfolk.

It was a lovely break and the hotel was clean and staff were good, the room nice very clean but in places could have done with a revamp as the fittings were getting on a bit… these aren’t period features obviously as in bathroom fittings and furniture.. would recommend staying there though
